Baraka Piri Piri — Restaurant in London

This place used to be called Southern Fried Chicken (Southern's). Those that know, know. In an area that has seen so much change, it's great to still see such an important local institution going strong. The amount of people that were raised being nourished by this shop is staggering and I consider myself lucky to have been one.

Family atmosphere and Boss man treats everyone so attentively. I had been away for a decade - walked into the shop to be greeted by a warm smile and a face that still remembered me. So heart warming. And I haven't even talked about the food!

Wings are still ridiculously good - gorgeous tender chicken in a generous crispy breading, spiced like a hot wing should be. Fillet burger could be breaded a little better but the flavour is still so good. My only one gripe is that they stopped doing the rice with curry sauce which was an absolute classic! Last night I ordered a portion of wings and took them home. I ate the first couple then onto my third and took a bite noticing the meat was extremely dark. I then took the breading off and discovered it a chicken head! You can tell it is a head from the beak(shown in the pictures) . This is mortifying disgusting and horrible, especially how sick i was after. I would not like to escalate this situation to further to health departments and authorities etc so if the owner/manager would like to reach me and we can arrange a settlement and solution that could speed things up. Over the food has gone downhill snd finding a chicken head is disgusting. You shouldn’t be ordering from here unless you wanna eat some other weird...

I’ve been a customer here for over 25 years, the same guy has been working here for at least 20 of those years. What made these guys amazing was that you could go here any time of the day or night and get amazingly fresh beautifully tasting juicy chicken… Today unfortunately, I ordered a family meal (F2) for £22.99, normally We would have eaten in, but today got a takeaway. Once we got home and opened everything up we found that four of the Burgers were so stale that they seemed as though they were made hours ago. Due to the distance, we didn’t go back but tried to call the shop just to let them know how disappointed we were, but the phone number is also ringing out…
