Dear all, I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the incident of sexism that occurred at your Be At One location in Liverpool Street on 11/03/2023. As a patron of your establishment, I was shocked and offended by the sexist comment made by one of your security personnel towards me. However, what has made this experience even more frustrating is the fact that the security personnel made the comment while standing outside the menās bathroom, where my male friends and I were having a conversation. The fact that this security personnel felt entitled to make such a comment is deeply troubling and highlights the issues of sexism and misogyny that continue to exist in our society. Moreover, it is particularly frustrating that there is a clear double standard when it comes to gender-specific spaces. It is widely accepted that women can go together to the bathroom, but men are often discouraged from doing so due to societal expectations of masculinity. This double standard not only perpetuates harmful gender norms but also makes it easier for individuals to make discriminatory comments and actions towards men. As a customer of Be At One, I expect a safe and inclusive environment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their gender or any other characteristic. It is unacceptable for your employees to make discriminatory comments, especially in a space where patrons should feel safe and comfortable. I urge you to take this matter seriously and investigate the incident thoroughly. I also request that your establishment takes a more proactive approach towards addressing issues of sexism and gender discrimination. This could include providing training and education for your employees on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I hope that you will take the necessary steps to ensure that Be At One is a safe and welcoming space for all individuals. Sincerely, Victoria...
Read moreThe actual night of my private event was good, and the bar staff were friendly and patient. However, my experience in the lead-up to my event and after the event was an absolute disgrace. This was with the head office team Stonegate group I booked a venue 4 months in advance and paid a deposit to then be told only 3 weeks before that they had accidentally double booked. This was super stressful as I had already sent out my invites there was little attempt to find another venue of this standard, but I finally found Bar at One. I had paid a refundable £250 deposit, and it took over 3 months to get this refunded, although it states in the contract it should be no more than 20 days. I had to send several emails not getting responses for weeks and weeks. I was wrongly told I was not entitled to a refund then after several back and forths I got my refund. Overall terrible communication, organisation and professionalism from the Stone Gate group. I would not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHave been coming here since 2020 every other weekend with the girls, it was our no1 place to be, never ever had a problem with security, staff, managers, or anyone ever but tonight we were met with a new security guard. My friends were supposedly kicked out for pushing the bar light which the staff push all night for all the years weāve been coming here, we were then allowed back in after speaking to the manager who then spoke to the bar staff, but upon re entry and being told to queue up again, the sour new security didnāt allow us back in because my friend was apparently rude to him about her friend ( me a young girl )who was unaware of my friends being kicked out and I was stuck inside. They were more concerned about kicking our group out over our young female friend being drunk and alone inside without any idea where her friends were. I am so disappointed and upset from this because this has been our one and only place to go for the last few...
