I’ve been here once before the review I am posting about and had a decent time, except for constant harassment by men and one of the bouncers persistently following my friend and I and trying to hold her hand.
However, I doubt I will be returning after the experience i’ve had! Queue was not moving whatsoever so we decided to leave and go to the shops to get my friend a sugary drink because she was feeling her complications with low brood pressure. We purchased one ZERO PERCENT alcohol kopparberg each as we were planning to drink inside on our return.
However, on our return the queue had reduced significantly so we finished our drinks at the end of the road. At which point, after queuing for around 15 mins in the pouring rain upon walking to the entry a bouncer came right up into our faces and told us not to bother coming in as he saw us drinking in his queue. I politely showed the zero percent marking on my friends bottle and that we had not even come near the premises with our “drinks” which were non alcoholic! He then shook his head clearly knowing he was in the wrong and proceeded to then say we were not allowed in because my friend was wearing a hijab which was BANNED from the premises. Not only is this incredibly racist, but in all ridiculousness she was not! She had draped her scarf over her newly dyed hair to protect it from the rain and untied it to once again prove this bouncer wrong with his excuses. After that, he just told us to “call the police” if we had any further issues and refused to talk to us anymore, leaving us outside in the pouring rain and letting us queue just to be given ridiculous excuses for not being allowed in. Terrible customer service, so many better Be At Ones than this stuck up, arrogant, crowded and...
Read moreSHAMBLES, DISGUSTING RUDE, OBNOXIOUS STAFF, we had a booking, and paid £60 deposit for a Hen Do, but the rude aggressive staff, was letting everyone else in, who hadn’t got a reservation, but made us queue up behind around 20 people who hadn’t booked, eating into our allocated time spot, we kept saying we have a reservation, but the female door staff was surly, rude, smirking and blowing kisses, bearing in mind she was doing this in the doorway out of the way of cctv, which I pointed out to her, but we got her on camera, I work in customer relations and this awful person needs sacking, never have I experienced such a rude aggressive manor, we had elderly people with us that day who were appalled at her disgusting behaviour, the poor bride to be was devastated it totally ruined what had been a lovely day, the review deserves NO STARS, but it doesn’t let you, I cannot believe a large establishment like this can let this happen to people that had looked forward to something for months, for it to be ruined by employing this type of staff members, I would recommend that people AVOID THIS PLACE and spend your hard earned money in other establishments like this who actually values...
Read moreI visited Bar One with a friend over the weekend. As I came on here to leave a review, I am in utter shock of how this business has the rating that they do, considering the management they have. Initially, our night began with a blonde woman telling us there were no tables. Roughly 20 minutes later, we were brought in to easily 10 free tables. While I understand this could be due to a number of factors, the woman dealing with us was less than friendly.
She proceeded to come over to my table and insist that my friends payment had not gone through due to an issue with the connection on the card machine. My friend pulled up his internet banking to display a charge, that was not pending. She insisted it be paid again, as the money was 'well in the air, not in my pocket and he could ring back if he was charged twice.'
I found this alarming considering this was an error on her side, not mine. However, the most concerning thing about this experience was how she spoke to the waiter serving us. It not only ruined my night, but anyone who I am sure judging by the noise of her, was quite a few - but anyone who had the displeasure of...
