Yori Korean BBQ Restaurant Review Yori Korean BBQ offers a mixed dining experience that leans heavily on its culinary strength. The food is undeniably the highlight, with dishes that showcase authentic Korean flavors and high-quality ingredients. The barbecue meats were perfectly seasoned, cooked to tender perfection, and paired beautifully with an array of traditional sides. However, the overall experience was less than memorable beyond the food. The service was adequate—neither particularly attentive nor off-putting, but it lacked the warmth or polish that can elevate a dining experience. The atmosphere left much to be desired, with minimal effort put into creating a lively or inviting ambiance. Without the buzz and energy that many associate with Korean BBQ, the space felt a bit flat and uninspired. In summary, Yori is a solid choice for those who prioritise excellent food over a vibrant dining environment. It’s worth visiting for the flavors alone, but don’t expect much in the way of atmosphere or standout service.

This was a decent experience, loved the atmosphere and watching the BBQ on other tables, which smelt delicious. Service was excellent, with most of the ordering taking place directly from the app. It was novel how multiple people can scan the barcode at the table and all see the running tab for the order. We tried these absolutely delicious chicken balls. I wish we got more of these. I got the beef brisket udon and my colleagues got pork and chicken bibimbap and a seafood soup. Honestly the seafood soup wasn't very nice, and I wasn't a fan of the pork. The chicken bibimbap was good and so was the beef brisket. All in all, a good experience, but for the cost o have tried better. I would come again for the excellent service and atmosphere and also to try the BBQ next time.

The new Yori outlet in Shoreditch was much spacious and has more BBQ grill tables, which makes the overall dining experience all the more better. Wait times during peak hours (lunch and dinner) are still minimal, however, it’s recommended to book prior to avoid disappointment. We ordered the Spicy Korean fried chicken, Pajeon (Korean pancakes), pork and beef bulgogis and they were really good! My favourite has to be the BBQ because the meat were very well marinated. As it was a new establishment, my only bit of suggestion was that the staff could be a little more attentive and courteous to the customer’s needs. Apart from that, I really enjoyed my experience at Yori Shoreditch and will definitely come back with my friends again!

I’m doing this here as I don’t know how to go about making a complaint, I’m really disappointed with my experience, after visiting yesterday. I have social anxiety, and for the first time I went out to eat by myself yesterday, and I will never do that again! I came here hoping to enjoy the Beef Bulgogi, after loving it at Bari Bari for my birthday on Saturday. Firstly the booking system was poor, their emails took long to come, resulting in me having to call the restaurant to confirm. When I arrived the restaurant was practically empty, which was okay for me, but confusing as the online system made it seem like it was busy. I was shown to a table but given no menu, then after sometime realised I had to scan a barcode to order my food, there was no welcoming atmosphere, or instructions on how to use the system, reminder this was my first time at this restaurant. After some time I noticed other customers arrived and I noticed one table particularly were given menus. When I ordered my food a waiter came and said the beef Bulgogi is usually for 2 people so do I mind the second portion, I said that’s fine, on the menu it said it was £12.50, no where in that conversation, the wait said I would be charged twice. After my food arrived in bits, the waiter didn’t explain how to operate the grill or showed how he turned it on, so I had to call them and ask. While eating my meal, and eating the beef Bulgogi in the traditional Korean way with the lettuce wrap, I began to choke, I couldn’t breathe and stood up immediately in a panic. The was a group of women on a table beside me, and a couple ahead of me, and not one person got up to help, I remember hitting my chest trying to get the food out, and everyone just watched, I could see one woman holding a bowl, but still sitting, I don’t remember seeing the waiter. I just remember feeling like I was about to die and not one person got up to help, even when I gestured with my hands to help me. And I’ve thought about it since last night till this morning, what if I died? On a day with the weekend coming to an end of celebrating my birthday, going out by myself for the first time, having a meal to myself before my son comes home, I nearly died, I could have died and not one person ran to my aid to help me, a waiter didn’t come up to me after to ask if I was okay. I felt so alone, but because of my anxiety I couldn’t move, so I just sat there, until it passed, and forced myself to eat. I even paid for my meal, to see I was charged £25 for the beef Bulgogi! I still paid, because all I wanted to do was get out of that restaurant and get back to my home where I’d feel safe. So to conclude this review, don’t go to this restaurant especially at this location. Bari Bari is better!! And if it wasn’t for my social anxiety I’d...

This was one of the worst service I’ve ever encountered. I usually don’t write reviews for restaurants but it was so bad that I had to write one. We went in and the restaurant wasn’t full it was maybe 3-4 tables being served. We went in and was shown to our table. We observed that a cutlery was missing and one of them was dirty to which I closed an eye and just started looking at the menu because we were so hungry. Once we looked at the menu and knew what we wanted, we waited for the waitresses and tried to get their attention. We waited 10 minutes for this. We got one of their attention and was told to wait to get our order taken. We waited another 10 minutes and we wanted to walk out until we saw the qr code in the table to order which we weren’t told or couldn’t have been told instead of waiting. We order 4 dishes and we asked for water as well whilst waiting. We waited 30 mins and food wasn’t being served. We only got served one dish during that 30 mins and it was going cold because we wanted to eat it with the other dishes. Anyways, I had to walk up to the cashier because we weren’t getting attention at all and I mentioned how we haven’t gotten our dishes yet in the past 30 mins and they had to check their system and turns out our order wasn’t there at all. After telling them, our order got out in 5 minutes which I was abit stunned because we waited this long and it could have been this quick. Anyways, the night got even worse because there was a birthday table which was fine but they started blasting happy birthday music on full blast whilst we were eating and continued blasting music after that happy birthday song. We were just not in a good mood after that. I’m never dining in here again. Will...

I had very high hopes in this place due to the great reviews this place has, considering it was the restaurant of the year 2023, I was really looking forward to their food. Upon arrival I can already see the waitress looks tired to even serve, I get it long day, putting that aside, the spicy rice cake was probably the only thing I would say was nice, the gal bi tang was extremely disappointing very little flavour tasted more like water and a pinch of salt, the meat was chewy and had a gamey smell, the fried chicken was more on the dry side, kimchi pancake was burned underneath. I ordered a mocktail as I have an allergy to alcohol unfortunately I received a cocktail, we managed to get the drink changed yet no apology for their mistake. When time to pay, the waitress didn't ask whether or not we enjoyed our food.

In future it will be better if the waitress had taken a pen and paper to write down the order or at least repeat the order to avoid mistakes. I understand that it's coming to the end of the day and everyone gets tired, it's expected in the food industry, especially if you're working in a place with an award you need to keep up the standards.

Unfortunately my experience wasn't great therefore will not be coming back, it's ashame as the place does look attractive just unfortunate customer service at the time seemed to be extremely difficult or to put bluntly clearly...
