As you walk into Bill's, it has a wonderful ambiance and beautiful decor. And then you get to the food, which is exceptional. I had the Beetroot and Goats Cheese Risotto for the main which was delicious, and I very much enjoyed the starters of Halloumi Fries, Stone Baked Bread and the extremely excellent Chicken Skewers! They were worth admission into Bill's alone. And the desert of Bill's Flowerpot, which is a cheesecake in a chocolate pot with chocolate soil, was divine. One of the best Cheesecakes I've ever eaten and would highly recommend. Lovely rich taste and gorgeous to look at. Only issues come in regards to the service. It was my first visit, whereas my friend who accompanied me has been to several different Bill's, and has never had any issues until this Victoria branch. As we were eating there was at least 3 different flies that were constantly buzzing around, and typically, whenever we tried to inform someone the flies had scarpered, only to return when staff not present. The first member of staff informed shrugged, unsure what to do. The second told us he would inform the manager. We called another gentleman over, who happened to be the manager, who said that it was something that never happens here and didn't really do anything? But we called him over a second time where, thankfully, the flies had decided to stay put so could be observed. He offered to move us, but we had finished our meal by that point, but as I wanted the delicious desert I accepted to be moved. He explained it was the (January?) weather that was attracting the flies, but did come to us a while later and said they had closed that table off, as strangly it seemed to be the only table receiving these visitations. He very graciously discounted the meal on account of this. Overall, I find the service mixed but they did right at the end, but the food, particularly Bill's Flowerpot cheesecake, is exceptional so would recommend to...
Read moreMost recently on a weekday this September, got the chance to visit Bill's restaurant located opposite Victoria Station for a quality moment after a working day. The moment we entered the queue, Mia took charge of her role with care and due diligence in ensuring options of what was available, going the extra mile to ensure we had a part and say in the dining experience. Throughout the experience, her care was genuine, patient, and professional. Though she performed the role of a hostess, her work ethic is far beyond title but a heart within to care, serve, and passionately be involved by maintaining the customer experience. Machel, an expert waiter took the time to understand each need, and request though one like myself can be particular, (still yet tired from the day, but hospitable service is a must!) his efforts moment by moment were beyond what could've been asked for. He came with knowledge, understanding, and an easy-going personality (love a good banter!) I can't stress enough both Machel and Mia hands down deserve to be recognised, valued, and thanked immensely for their support, patience, and well-mannered, and must I repeat professional manner they consistently delivered. Quite amazed overall and thankful to have experienced both quality service early from the beginning up to the very end (quite literally!) The night was truly made. MASSIVE Thank You to Mia and Machel, you are Both a Credit to Bill's Restaurant. Truly Blessed for how you guys created such a beautiful evening, the level of respect & gratitude that you gave is Not A moment to be missed. It's the little most treasurable moments in life. May your talents and drive take you further to more streams of excellence. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to BOTH! Happy & Grateful...
Read moreFirstly, the amazing server of Ghanaian heritage who kept calling myself and my friends 'kings' and 'queens' was LOVELY. Incredibly polite, funny and so skilful in navigating the torturous tightness of this Bills.
This is the only Bills I've visited, but if all of them are as overly packed with tables and chairs as this branch then my attendance at Bills has ended at this 😅
It was soooo tight! You could hardly breathe from how squashed the tables and chairs were. Anytime a person went to a toilet it was hell for all involved.
I thought it was just because of them trying to maximise their Christmas sales, but apparently it's always like that.
The food was decent. The soup was bland. The burger and sage chips tasty. And the sticky toffee pudding was delightful with ice cream. However, I couldn't help but feel like none of the food really lived up to the price of a Christmas set meal...
The portions were alright, but none of the food was 'wow'. I kinda felt like I could've gotten the equivalent quality and portion (maybe even bigger) at Spoons for a 1/3 of the price and comfier seating 😒
All in all unless the seating stops being so packed and uncomfortable, then this will likely be my last time visiting Bills. Which is unfortunate, because that server (wish I'd asked his name 😓)...
