I was shocked to find on my last visit to Blanford Comptoir that the restaurant discriminates against families with prams, and therefore, presumably, wheelchair users.
In short, when my family and I arrived with a pram, the person in charge offered us a table it was impossible for the pram to access. The restaurant suggested we use a high chair, for which our baby is not old enough.
There were three free tables at the front of the restaurant all of which we were told were unavailable to us: the manager refused to allow two small tables to be put together for our party (despite a table at the back that could have been split to replicate the tables at the front); and, he refused to allow us to sit a table for five people that was under reservation, despite there being a table for five at the back of the restaurant he admitted was unreserved.
We were forced to leave the restaurant and I can only assume that if a wheelchair had attempted to access the restaurant they would have faced similar...

It took a very long time for us to be served. The tables on either side of us arrived later, but got to eat and drink significantly quicker.
My friend asked for bread. He was told very snippily by a waiter that bread would be served after ordering. He unhappily obliged, but our punishment was obviously not being given the luxury of plates. It seems strange to have to butter your bread on your hand or napkin in a pricey Marylebone restaurant.
The food was, as the name suggests, Bland! Absolutely nothing special and not at all...

The food is excellent and fresh, evidenced by the small number of offerings on the menu. The saffron seafood veloute was fragrant and we loved all the starters. The wine list is more than excellent, including high quality wines by the glass and some splendid bottles (esp check out the hermitage and surrounding areas on the menu). The staff are fantastic and enthusiastic. Great meal, we will be back soon.
We have come here regularly. The menu is always changing and food is amazing. Perhaps one of the strengths of the Blandford Comptoir is that you never know what will be on the menu, but it is always surprisingly delicious.
