Really disappointed that my praline dohnut was soooo bland. It literally had no flavour whatsoever. I was expecting more and I think I deserved more for the price I paid.
In response to owner - to say 'im sorry you felt like that' is basically saying 'im sorry your opinion is wrong'. You haven't apologised for serving me a poor product, you're putting the blame on me for having a bad opinion. I can assure you that the dohnut and the cream inside tasted of NOTHING. I'm sure you thought that by stating that you use only 'the best ingredients' somehow absolves you of any blame, but if you use the best ingredients and still can't produce something that tastes good then you are in far more trouble than you think.
My advice to you is to take my criticism on board and use it to make yourself better. By ignoring my feedback and putting the blame on me makes you look petty and pathetic. You clearly have no desire to improve or give your customers a good experience. You are clearly happy to provide poor products for extortionate...
Read moreWent to return a croissant that was too small especially when you paid £3.75. Manager started to shout at me and asking me why am bringing it back. She started swearing even though there were kids inside the bakery and threatening me that I’m gonna call police on me for taking off my glasses in a threatening way I honestly didn’t know what to respond with. I just wanted my refund, as a person that works in customer service I’m absolutely gob smacked that she spoke to customers in this way. Been coming there for almost a year and all the other staff are usually lovely but not returning any time soon. When I asked for her name so I can contact Bread Ahead she obviously refused. I would advise to get your staff more training on how to speak to customers especially the people at the front, and if people are paying the prices your charging you would expect some empathy if a customer returns something. I’ll add on her picture because she absolutely refused to give me her name ( Probably because she knows...
Read moreI am embarrassed on behalf of Bread Ahead. Should you laugh or cry when the £6.50 you spent on an almond croissant and a slice of galette des rois could’ve procured eight Sainsbury’s croissants of identical quality — the kind that come lumped in a bag — and still have left you with five pounds for a round-trip journey anywhere within zone 1?
As you can see from the cross sections, only a few layers of lamination were achieved on the tops of both products, and these were limp, not crispy layers. What’s more, the bottoms were downright thick and doughy. Maybe I could still forgive the bakers if my mouth registered any semblance of butter, but no, both items had the taste and texture of square bread that children flatten between their fingers before tossing to local ducks (more likely pigeons).
Either these pastries had been sitting out for days by negligent front-of-house or sorely under-baked by a team whose competence begins and ends with...
