Came here on a Saturday afternoon with a friend to check out what all the buzz is all about with this place, and as enjoyers of Brewdog beer in general. To be honest, although it has some good points - overall it was a disappointing experience. First of all, though, I’d like to commend the staff here as the service was great. We were helped by a really nice waitress (American lady with glasses - owners, she needs a raise!) who made us feel very welcome and attended to our every needs very kindly, as well as being up for a laugh and joke which was great. The food, however, doesn’t reflect the price paid. 14 quid just for the burger, and you have to pay extra for the fries. We were advised to get a sharing bowl as it’s cheaper to share and you get more overall, which shows the menu has been designed in a cheeky fashion already. I had the Patriot burger, my friend had the Beyond Meat. My burger was ok, but nothing to write home about. As with the chips. My friend enjoyed his vegetarian burger well enough but I tried it and it tasted like play-dough. I guess the real selling point here is that you can get all of the brewdog drinks on offer, not just the stuff you get in shops, as well as having the privilege of most of them being served fresh draft. Still, 6 quid on average for a half pint is a bit of a joke.
Overall, the experience was ok - but to be honest it’s just not worth the price. It’s all just “not bad”. I’d say save yourself a fiver and go to five guys for your burger, then head to your favourite pub for a crisp pint. Unless you’re a brewdog die-hard and don’t care about the...
Read moreI wouldn't normally go public with this kind of thing - but last night your team embarrassed themselves to such an extent that I would publicly recommend that nobody goes to this 'tavern'.
I was hosting two high profile actors who had performed on the Westend. We came to BD because of the pool table and took a pint each upstairs. We were entirely isolated, three men playing pool and bothering absolutely no one. We even asked the manager if he needed to close the upstairs area - he was lovely and said we were fine. We had TWO PINTS in this establishment, and played three games of pool.
We wanted a pint on our way out before heading home but the on duty barman and barlady refused us service. This was backed up with zero rational reasoning. We were not too drunk, we were not being rude, abusive or inappropriate at all. As the manager who followed us outside will, again, attest to.
These two staff members were so drunk on power and out of line that we will ensure that the three of us, our companies, our colleagues and anywhere else our sphere of influence reaches will never, under any circumstances, return to a Brewdog. Ever again.
It was a farce, they should be embarrassed and you should be screening your staff a little more carefully. They were on the night shift at the downstairs bar last...
Read moreMy friends and I visited this pub around 10:30pm last night. We had pleasant conversations with the bartenders on the second floor and the one stationed on the left side of the bar on the ground floor.
However, our experience took a turn for the worse when we interacted with a bartender on the right side of the ground floor bar. Our conversation with him made us very uncomfortable. Two of my friends are visiting the UK for the first time and was a bit confused about how to order drinks in a pub, so I helped translate and asked the bartender two questions. After trying one of the IPAs and deciding to each buy a recommended beer, the bartender became noticeably impatient and suddenly demanded to see our IDs. One of my friends, who was traveling, did not have her passport with her but showed a photocopy instead. The bartender then stated that he could not serve us due to policy.
We respect the Challenge 25 policy, so we left the bar. However, the unpleasant experience stemmed from the bartender's very unfriendly and impatient attitude after we asked just two brief questions.
Additionally, he only asked for our IDs after we had already tried the beer, making us feel unwelcome at this...
