TOP TIP: the secret and huge roof terrace! Pumping music with full base from an actual DJ (no lame backing tracks) this dope spot on Upper Street (just by Angel station) is the place to be if you want to hang with friends old and new. This bar/restaurant has a true vibeeeeee. Come to casually (but impressively) party, hang, chill, drink, eat… anyone ready to have fun is warmly welcomed. Even sat downstairs, with the huge front windows fully open it feels like being on holiday at a best friends home. The creative food menu, made with freshly made wraps in a gorgeous tandoor, has been designed by the ever awesome energetic Jai, a former chef originally trained at Jamie Oliver’s “15” restaurant. They also have a range of wines, beers and cocktails. There are rumours that soon there may be a supper club in the future, so add yourself to their insta if you wanna be the first in the know @bubba.oasis Ps. I would recommend booking as it looks like it will be the place to be! (It already is!) x

This place is lovely, I've been there 3 times since their opening two months ago, most recently to celebrate my sister's birthday at the roof terrace last night! The staff are genuinely lovely, they go out their way to give you the best possible experience, whether that be carrying tables around or customising your orders to make you the happiest possible. They are so friendly and kind hence why you feel very comfortable to be there and ask for what you need. The vibes are great too, lovely interior design, both downstairs and upstairs at the roof terrace. I'll be going back during the day with my laptop to enjoy the café vibes and do some work too, but so far I loved the bar. I usually don't leave reviews this long but they deserve it, go check it out for yourself. Thanks so much guys !!

£13 for a Captain Morgan + coke. 🤦‍♂️ what is this, The Shard? Literally Cocktails on the board advertised £12 - attention that excludes "service". And somehow a spirit mixer is £13. Cool. Well done guys. At least the toilets are nice Also, when I arrived: "It's full" oh.. I travelled across London for this event - it's for my friend's birthday? It's 9:30 and finishes at midnight, I have a ticket! "Nah it's full" right so if 50 people leave can I come in? "Nah". Okay awesome. Obviously the next guy let me in but still, general experience was 👎 as fuq

They fraudulently add service charges to drinks and are racist to non-black ethnicities.

I literally cant believe what I experienced in this day and age!.... The place was pretty empty but a group of people were hanging around the entrance so we tried to enter but one security guard stopped us and said the manager would have to check. The manager or supervisor person looked at us and then said no, so we questioned this for a while and then they said they would have to wait for the security boss to approve entry. Meanwhile the group next to us whose attire varied from smart to roadmen with faces covered were allowed in.

We were finally allowed in after 10 minutes and a group of girls at the bars who were clearly regulars said "why are you here?". I did not say anything to them prior but they made it quite clear what their message was meaning. There were no menus for drinks so we just asked what they had and the price, we then tapped our card on the reader thrusted towards us and later noticed it was more then what was stated. It turns out they just add service charge for literally doing their own jobs and it wasnt listed anywhere? No one was eating food it was very much a bar environment so why are they adding this scam charge? The fact it was not clearly stated anywhere is fraud and what service was even being provided above what the bar staffs job is? I had to stand and wait at the bar so at what point do they deserve a tip?

After finishing the overpriced drinks my partner went to que for the toilet upstairs and the other ladies eyed her up and said "do you think you should be here?", to which she then had to look for another toilet out of fear and to avoid conflict. She found the disabled toilets which turns out they use as a cloakroom!

They also try and sell absolutely trash artwork which is clearly done by whatever cretin owns the place. Who is paying over £1k for some artwork that looks like it was done by a GCSE art student.

Absolute...

I organised my birthday at Bubba Oasis over the summer, and privatised their rooftop upstairs. Despite the terrace being really pleasant, I had a really disappointing experience.

Although one of the owners had promised me in writing the (substantial) minimum spend could be spent over the full duration of the day & night, I was pressured to pay the full outstanding amount by 8pm in a hurried and aggressive tone. No itemised bill was shown to me to see what had been spent to that point. To compensate me, they discounted the remainder but the sum remained very significant. I had also reserved an area downstairs once our rooftop booking ended, I was told "no guarantee could be made" that I would get this space, leaving my party of 60 guests not knowing where to stand or sit. We finally got the space but this took asking several times and again was done in a confrontational manner which made me and my guests feel uneasy about the situation.

This is on top of the fact that: My partner was also spoken to rudely by the staff when trying to resolve the situation One of my guests was double charged for his beverage When the gentleman manning the toilet knocked on the all the toilet doors as a queue was forming, one of the staff members shouted at one of my guests aggressively saying he shouldn't knock (it wasn't even him).

I understand the Bubba team are running a small business and were trying to accommodate us, but I really believe some of the examples above were not acceptable and completely unprofessional. I'm not a confrontational person and don't think I've ever left a negative review before but how the staff handled the evening really tarnished the experience for me. I reached out to the team following the evening to voice the treatment we received and get some compensation via phone, email and whatsapp, but received...

I visited your establishment with my date and ordered drinks upon arrival. The venue was largely empty, so we sat down to enjoy our evening. During this time, I noticed highly inappropriate and unprofessional behavior from your security staff.

After stepping away to use the restroom, I returned to find one of the bouncers trying to chat up my date. Upon seeing me, he walked away without saying anything. Later in the evening, when I went to the restroom again, another bouncer was leaning over my date, speaking directly into her ear. At this point, I was getting really pissed off, as their intentions were clear and entirely unacceptable.

My date and I decided to leave after finishing our drinks as she felt extremely uncomfortable. Once outside, she disclosed the specifics of the interactions.

The first bouncer was telling her how beautiful she is, and the second made an appalling remark, saying, “If he isn’t going to take you home, then I will.”

This behavior raises serious concerns about the purpose of your security team. Are they there to ensure the safety and comfort of your customers, or are they there to harass women who visit your venue?

This experience was not only sickening but also deeply troubling. It reflects poorly on the management for allowing such conduct to continue unchecked.

I will strongly advise anyone, especially women, to avoid your establishment in the future. Furthermore, I will be sending an official complaint letter regarding this incident, as such behavior cannot be ignored...
