I stopped by this coffee shop a couple of days ago, and I’m honestly shocked by how the manager treats customers. Her tone was rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional from the moment I walked in. There was no greeting, no courtesy—just a dismissive attitude and sharp comments that made the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

As a paying customer, I expect at least a basic level of respect. Instead, I felt like I was being talked down to for simply placing an order. I also saw her speak the same way to other guests, so it wasn’t just a one-off interaction.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any business, especially one that relies on customer service. I won’t be returning, and I’d suggest others think twice before walking in unless the management changes. A coffee shop should feel warm and inviting—this one...

The cafe has a plum location, being the only of it's kind in the local area with a garden terrace looking out onto Margravine Cemetery.

I do wonder if this mini-monopoly has led them to rest not their laurels: whilst the selection of sandwiches and pastries is as broad as you could wish, the coffee can be hit and miss (my last order was memorably unpleasantly bitter) and the staff at times can be terse and reluctant to engage (made worse by the fact that they happily natter to each other when not dealing with customers). Beyond the standard cafe fare, they offer health smoothies,which I found a touch underwhelming, in large part due to the price tag. Their caffee latte is made in the french style (in between a regular latte and a flat white) and is particularly good when topped with cinnamon. Their chicken panini with tapenade is amazing when served hot (asks for it to be heated for a little longer so you get the crispy crust).

Cookies here are different from most other places - it's in between a biscotti and an American cookie. They also source really good madeleines filled with chocolate.

Bread-wise, they sell the dark rye baguettes which is great for tartines in the morning. As the rye bread is sweeter in taste than most wheat flour breads, it's particularly good for making a cheese sandwich with something peppery / spicy, e.g. rockets, sliced...
