worst turkish food i had in london, what a waste of money. I used to come to this place at least once a week when i was living in the area. And food was amazing, good quality meat, large portions, good fresh products and always full of customers. Recent visit was a total waste of money, paid £98 for turkish food (2 ppl ) without any alcoholic beverage included.
The owner is the same, but i dont know what has happened, perhaps greed.
Prices are mayfair prices, but quality is awful, isnkandar kebab was awful, to save on money and meat and cash in, it was a bowl of soggy bread and hell load of yoghurt, dont worry there is some Meat on top ( probably 50 grms ) perhaps one of the most expensive ones i had.
Grill plates are joke, small portion, low quality dated meat, they even ask you to choose between rice and salad ( they charge £22-28 for it though ) , 4 pieces of small lamp cubes on top of a piece of lavash bread and some low quality salad next to. The lamb gets marinated in cream and yoghurt and you could taste the dairy being off, it has probably been marinated and sitting in that fridge for ages.
Thank you for giving us diarrhoea !!!!!!!
Baklava is from Antepliler restaurant in north london, which is good but the one Best mangal served us was dated as hell, probably from last week and £2 per piece ( £4 per portion ).
My advise to owners, go see the likes of Leziz mangal, Gokyuzu , Antepliler , othewrise you will go bankrupt.
Good restaurant turned to a corner kebab shop which you should just go to when you are drunk to get a doner wrap and pay 3x.
There are so many Good turkish restaurants in london, massive portions, great prices, good quality meat . Normally a massive mix grill for 2 that you can not finish, also lots of condiments at the begining (without you asking )yoghurt , salad, bread , olives …… will cost £40 for two people and you will have smile on your face...
Read moreI used to go time to time this place and food was good. After long time I took my friend for a lunch on Friday.Hardly found a parking spot where you pay by phone and it is not cheap almost six pond for one hour. As we entered there was an angry looking guy on the front counter I asked him what is good and difference between lamb shish and lamb cop shish. He suggested and insisted us to have Best lamb doner this is the best. I was surprised to know that I can choose rice or salad. There was not any salad. I love Turkish food and been eating at many places. They are generous and always enough salad with any dish. We had a Best lamb doner with tiny bit thick and old rice (not basmati rice).I had to ask for the chilli and garlic sauce as it did not come with the dish. doner was burnt and greasy didn’t feel good after. Baklawa was old dated aswell. After paying £37.50 for lamb doner with very little rice and two pieces of Baklawa with Turkish tea left hungry and felt bad. I would never go back to this...
Read moreI recently visited Best Mangal at 66 North End Road, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Despite hearing good things, the reality didn't live up to the hype.
First, the service was incredibly slow. It took ages just to place an order, and the staff seemed disorganized and uninterested. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best, and some dishes were overcooked. The lamb skewers were dry and tough, lacking the tenderness and flavor you’d expect from a Turkish grill. The portions were also smaller than expected, especially considering the prices.
To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the place left much to be desired. The tables were sticky, and the overall atmosphere felt neglected. For a place that prides itself on authentic Turkish cuisine, it was a letdown. There are far better options nearby that offer better food, service, and value. I won’t be returning...
