Cassio is the kind of restaurant that makes you feel like you’ve just discovered a hidden gem..even though it's clear they know exactly what they’re doing. We came here for a date night and left already planning our return.
We started with the Avocado al Granchio Gratinato, which was super rich, flavourful, and unique. For mains, the Pappardelle dello Chef was silky and indulgent, while the Grilled Mixed Fish special was fresh, expertly prepared, and perfectly paired with a bottle of Falanghina.
In terms of service, our waiter, Antonio, is an absolute legend. Funny, attentive, effortlessly charming, the man has it all..he brought an energy to the evening that elevated the entire experience. Like a shot of espresso in human form, he added just the right amount of flair without ever overstepping. He alone is worth the return trip.
Between the warm, homey atmosphere, fantastic food, and exceptional service, Cassio ticks every box. It’s rare to find a place that nails every element of a night out, but this one does. We’ll...
Read moreHad an amazing family meal here. The vongole was class, and the my veal with mozzarella and tomato was very lovely. Much thinner than I expected so really let the mozzarella, tomato and veal sing together.
The ambiance is also very nice and I enjoyed the colours and lighting of the restaurant.
I don't normally complain about this but I deduct two stars as the service was very disappointing. They have some weird system where they just constantly delegate to each other. So takes several requests just go get hold of the one person who is meant to take your food order or dessert order.
In fact, we basically had to ask 3 or 4 times for everything. Drinks, food, dessert. And it took ages. As a family who had ventured out during Covid would expect a bit more rather than just being ignored.
Even at the end the waited made a joke about how he doesn't do desserts. Would probably return as my partner and her family have been going for years but I do think the restaurant should rethink the...
Read moreNice Italian restaurant, this is the second time I’ve eaten here, both times the food was very good and the staff was friendly.
We visited on a Saturday night and it was much noisier than usual, every single table was taken. Everyone was having a good time.
When it came to ordering, to be honest when I ate here before they were accommodating to me being a coeliac. And while I can’t remember what I had before, I do remember it being gluten free. When I asked if they did gluten free pizza, I got a flat no, no other options were presented to me, that was it NO. No mention of gluten free pasta or an alternative dish, so I opted for the risotto, which I’m not sure if it did contain gluten or not, no info was provided.
While I still enjoyed the whole experience, I think a little more forthcoming info would have been useful, especially when the family originate from a country where a fifth of their populous was diagnosed with coeliac...
