Having read such nice reviews and having visited the venue myself a few times, I was keen to have my birthday there for about 30-40 people. Unfortunately, they cannot deal with such a number of guests, yet I booked and confirmed what I was looking for to make my night special almost 2months in advance. I was very disappointed and embarrassed to have had my friends there and we spent over £1000. Remarks like “this isn’t McDonald’s it’s a restaurant so we don’t crowd to buy drinks at the bar” was really not welcoming and neither was a wasted effort from November to prearrange an event for January which I was assured would be handled smoothly! I was told I’m stressing for nothing……on the night, the assistant GM was overwhelmed and forced her subordinate to come to work when she was unwell and not happy to serve customers so was moody and unhappy all night. The assistant GM tried to make up for her subordinate’s rudeness by dishing out some freebies and delighting 3-4 of my friends who have no clue of the back story but soon became rude herself. Birthdays (especially big ones) only come once so to have them be happy, organised and right is all someone tries to do to make it memorable but when others don’t appreciate that it’s a special day for you, then disappointing you means nothing to them. The assistant GM turned around and told me “you are not special we have other customers to serve and you are all equal, you did not hire the place and the money does not come to me”…..so does this mean I have to spend 3K plus to be “special” to them? Pre-booking and giving the restaurant business of over 1K is not good enough. Yes they gave me 2 cocktails and 1shot for free on the day but in the grand scheme of things that’s not even £20 versus over 1K! I don’t mind paying for a good service if I actually receive one and where I’m valued. Im British & I value customer service and delighting my customers (regardless of which sector I work in) so I find it strange that a restaurant in my home area can be so uncouth and unprofessional without such views. I wish I knew…..I’d have happily spent our £1000+ business in McDonald’s instead, where customers are at least valued highly!

Read moreFantastic Mexican fusion restaurant featuring indoor and outdoor seating. Food, beer, wine, cocktails & a full bar. And the food is delicious! Cash, credit card and e-wallet payments accepted. Tuesdays are Taco Tuesdays featuring a buy one, get one more free offer. Very clean loos.
Enjoyed a fantastic lunch on the patio for Taco Tuesday. Got to talk with the owner as well as enjoy the food and ambiance. Not too crowded, which was a pleasant surprise. I'm sure the dinner rush is much busier though.
Start with tortilla chips and pico de gallo. Pico didn't have much bite to it but was still pleasant and the chips are good and crisp.
Salmon Sashimi Tostadas are delicious - 2 per serving. Great option if you're not starving. Sampled nearly all of their taco offerings and they were all delicious. Panko chicken with mac and cheese understandably sounds questionable but it is delicious.
A pitcher of margaritas allowed six people to each have about half a margarita or so. Well-balanced between sour and sweet and the citrus was not overbearing. They also have some good tequilas to choose from and a cocktail menu that draws from a broader variety of cuisines and liquors.
Granted, this is not traditional Mexican food but it's a faithful blending of some of those elements with Asian, Mediterranean and other cuisines. Indoor decor is impressive while the front patio is relaxed and perfect on a sunny spring day. I would happily eat here again and will keep fond memories of this place - and this food! - for many...
Read moreRude service from when nobody served us at the door with a queue building behind us. Understandable they may be busy but all it takes is "we will be with you soon" rather than excusing us out the way with a moody face.
The American waitress asked me, a 30 year old, for ID. Flattering she thinks I look under 25 but as I only had a photo scan of my passport I was denied a drink as she told me AI can be used to forge this! Ok fine we will go somewhere else, but then she changed her mind and said I can have my drink after all. ID policy seems to be at discretion of the waitress. We did debate this of course as I have never been ID'd at a restaurant for 1 drink and to be honest we were already annoyed at the bad service at the door.
After we placed our order another lady came, presumably the manager, who cancelled our order and asked us to leave as the waitress was uncomfortable. No apology for the confusion we were made to feel, no clarification over the ID policy, and no negotiations offered to actually keep customers in and make money. We would have spent around £100.
Don't come here if you hate bad service as you're not allowed to speak up and will be asked to leave. Instead, spend your money in the real Latino restaurants in Elephant and not this Turtle...
