Im updating my review from 4 stars to 2 at best as I live in E&C for over 1.5yrs now first of all - coffee is mediocre at best, flat white is burning hot no matter who is preparing it. Americano might be the best choice there as itâs actually pretty decent second - pastries are underwhelming - looking cute yet dry and overly sugary, exactly like your lovebombing ex lol third - toasties. Vegan toastie was the reason I liked this place despite all the negatives, but I have no clue how they managed to mess this part up. Once I ordered a vegan toastie and was given a tuna one. I didnât pay attention to the look and it smelled cheesy (similar to vegan one), so I bit into it just to end up having fish in my mouth first time in five years lol đ I brought it back to the counter and only got âoh sorry we will swap it!â with no refund whatsoever. I donât blame it directly on the clearly young inexperienced person who was working at that moment but isnât it something that should be explained to them before they start working at the place? Finally, last straw happened today - we got a takeaway toastie because I figured Iâd give them another shot. First of, they changed the vegan toastie to be not mushroomy and cheesy but rather have caramelised onion overpowering the mushrooms quite intensely, fine. The problem happened when I noticed a tiny hair at the corner of my sandwich, which couldnât have come from me and certainly made me reconsider having food at Little Louie ever again:) . Oooon a good side - they have nice music and itâs a cool concept. We also rented it once and it wasnât bad experience. Itâs just the food the coffee and the sweets that make me never go back...
Read moreIf you're looking for a coffee shop to get a bit of work done / catch up on email, this is not it. If you're looking for a coffee shop to catch up with someone or have a coffee meeting and enjoy acidic coffee, its good.
Some pros and cons:
Pros: Atmosphere is pretty neat. They have antiques for sale (although you have to go online apparently and order?). With the antique furniture the interior has an interesting layout and vibe.
Good music usually which is super nice.
Food was quite good.
Nice for a summer hang out spot to catch up or hang out with people.
Cons: Wifi doesn't work. I've come here every once in a while over the past year. Not once have I had success connecting. There's free wifi at the park but the wifi doesn't make it into the build. Same with hotspot. Phone service is not strong as you enter the building, the further in you go, the worse it gets.
Coffee was acidic - personal preference so for some this might not be a con. There are better coffee options even within the vicinity.
Because the furniture is antique, not particularly comfortable to sit in.
All in all, there are other better coffee shops in the area but its a cool...
Read moreI lived near this cafe for over a year and itâs been consistently substandard. It looks amazing and super trendy so I wanted to love it but just couldnât. Itâs never taken less than ten minutes for coffee to be made even when there are no other customers there, and once I waited more than 20 minutes. I think they forgot and I had to remind them (itâs not like itâs short staffed either there are always 2-3 people working). It seems like the baristas arenât trained and the coffee just isnât good. Iâve had wrong orders, too hot (burned) milk and in general substandard coffee. It would be kind of fine if the prices were good but theyâre charging premium artisan coffee prices. Iâve tried a few cakes as well as they look good but taste just fine. I really hope they start properly training baristas and serving the standard the price suggests. Normally I wouldnât leave a review as Iâve worked in customer service lots (including a time as a barista) and know that so many things can impact the service, but since itâs been consistently bad I think the owner should be aware (and invest in training or lower...
