“Disappointing customer service, but an attempt to fix things in the end”

We visited this place with high expectations, but our experience was quite unpleasant at the start. We ordered a breakfast that included ham, potatoes, and eggs. As a personal preference, we politely asked the owner if it would be possible to warm the ham slightly on the grill. His response was completely unnecessary and rude, as he told us in a very abrupt manner that it wasn’t possible and that he had already “warned us.”

We even offered to pay extra for the service, but once again, his attitude was dismissive and unprofessional, firmly refusing to accommodate our request. To make matters worse, he later brought us bacon instead of ham and, in a condescending tone, said, “This is bacon,” as if we were incapable of distinguishing between bacon and cooked ham.

Fortunately, it seems his wife intervened, and after a discussion between them, the owner’s attitude changed, and he tried to be more polite and friendly to make up for the situation. While we appreciated this effort, the initial experience left a very bad impression.

We will not return and cannot recommend this place unless they significantly improve their...

BEWARE to this over charging and cash only « all the sudden » restaurant. We just went there this morning (8th sept 24) with 7 people. We took 3 full English breakfast, one ham, egg and fries breakfast + 2 coffees+1 extra fries + 5 extra pieces of bread + 2 pieces of black pudding. Price should have been around 70gbp. We had to pay 96gbp and we were asked to pay cash as the credit card machine was very suddenly not working anymore…but it was for the next customers…. There is a paper on the counter saying that the owner prefers cash rather than credit card due to increasing banks charges…is it only for this reason ? As we were not offered a ticket to check the total value, including VAT…I just wonder if we re not only the one being stolen in this bad experience….taxes have to be paid to the state !

So customers, if you go to this place to eat an average breakfast, make sure to ask your ticket and check, before sitting down, if you can pay by credit card as any descent place in London.

Mr owner - please use your cashier to print vat detailed tickets and stop ripping...

I would have given a zero star if I could have. The food was greasy and not fresh at all. It’s a cafe, so I can expect that. What really got to me was when I finished my food and went to pay the man (chef) said can I pay cash. Which I replied I only have card. The lady however said it was fine. She charged me for my meal £11) and made up the rest. My nephew got egg chips and beans and she charged me for£20 in total. When I asked how much was for his meal she replied “I don’t know but it comes to £20 in total. Wow, I was in disbelief. NEVER WILL I GO THERE AGAIN. PLEASE ASK PRICE FIRST BEFORE PAYING. No price list, so they make it up as they go. Please don’t get...

A proper caff in a trendy area run by a nice family. If you take your vegan skinny latte with rainforest soy milk then you're unlikely to find anything on the menu to suit. If you like extra carbon with your bacon and simple down to earth friendly service then you'll love it. The full English is 2/3 the price of the fancy place down the street. Just don't let your doctor see you eating here. Pro tip for tourists - if you want to know what British people had for breakfast 50 years ago, this is the place to find out

Brilliant, classic cafe experience. Good food, big portions freshly cooked. Great value for London. We were all stuffed. Special mention for the sausages which were really tasty and good quality. We sat outside in the sun, lovely. Note you have to pay extra for the drinks if not team and coffee but not much. Coffee was decent as well, I had a flat white .

I really don’t know how I ended up here. From the moment I sat down, I was affronted by pungent cigarettes and cheap perfume. The food, which added to the orgy of unpleasant scents, arrived, and there was a piece of metal inside the bacon. I ate the beans and egg, and tried to eat the hash brown, but I could taste the rancid oil it was fried in.
