When you pay Ā£15 for 2 coffees and a pastrami and cheese croissant it would be nice if the order was what you wantedā¦.I had a terrible experience with an aggressive, argumentative lady here yesterday. Sheād made my drink incorrectly. When I pointed this out she picked up a cup and told me where she usually fills the milk to (2/3rd) I said āfine but look, you filled it to the top?ā She then backtracked and shouted at me saying āthatās what I said!ā I was shocked. She placed my order on the counter. I even had to reach over the counter to grab a serviette. The coffee and croissant werenāt even greatā¦.had they been what I wanted. Steer clear.
EDIT; Response to owners follow up. Firstly, I didn't say anything about the pastries other than my order including a croissant. I also don't care to be called a liar. There seems to be a common denominator here....every bad review left, which invariably is due to your establishment's staff being rude, the products being substandard and the prices being too high are ALWAYS met with a curt response from you suggesting we are wrong and you are in the right? The response proves the reviewers' points as you're always hyper defensive and rude rather than apologetic and seeking to improve your establishment...I think you don't quite understand the concept of a review. Have you ever considered the problem might be with you? In short, we do support independent businesses, hence we went into your establishment in the first place, but we don't want to be taken for a ride. Your claims are bold...and nonsensical. I shouldn't have to explain the specifics of the drink I want (cortado) in "the best coffee shop in west london' I just want what I ordered....and perhaps when that drink arrives and isn't what I ordered because the barista doesn't know how to make said drink, I'm not shouted at for pointing out the order is wrong. At that point, just apologise and make another one....and if you really don't know how, just ask. Anyway, it's academic as I wont be returning and I'm glad that I left a 1 star review as your response perfectly illustrates the problem. BTW your biodegradable cups have plastic lids and plastic stickers on the sides and the "best beans" you use (what does that even mean?!?) looked like generic wholesaler's beans to me.....not that I could taste any coffee in my drink to be able to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLooked like a nice coffee shop, but the day I tried to go in it had a distressing smell like sour milk or vomit! It lingered when I went past a couple of hours later. I do not know if they had a refrigerator malfunction, or a puking customer to contend with, but I'm afraid I was not inclined to hang around to find out. I think perhaps they need to work on their cleaning. Appeared to be cosy and pleasantly decorated, in a typical artisan coffee shop way, with sofas and bare wooden floors.
EDIT: Dear COFX, thank you for responding. I can understand why you might think that my review was deliberately malicious, as there are people who do this on review sites. However, if you look at my other reviews you can see that I have written over 200, generally positive reviews. I was assuming that it was likely to be a temporary problem, and I would be open to trying your cafe another time. I do not know what the source of the unfortunate aroma was or if it was temporary or ongoing. It really did seem to be inside the cafe. We went in, hesitated and came out (and went to Antipode as it happens). In any case, I tend to to think that the real test is how a business responds to a problem rather than whether one arises (accidents can happen, life is unpredictable). I am not entirely encouraged by your response, although some degree of defensiveness is understandable. I would have preferred a tale of woe involving spillage or spoilage, and encouragement to return another another day when all was solved.
In the interest of fairness, I have included some more positive points from my rather brief visit
EDIT 2 How interesting. You have deleted your angry response to my review and replaced it with a rather more gracious response. Perhaps this really is a case of listening to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is purely based on service that I received. I past this cafe accidentally on a Sunday morning (approx 830 in the morning ?
I was the only customer in the cafe at 830 Sunday morning. Between our chat , 3 customer came and bought coffee and left.
The cafe is in the end of Fullham Palace road past the Charing cross hospital, next to the gas station, and opposit Waitrose.
I was intrigued what it said on the sign " original coffe " which turned out to be referring to the type of coffebean they were serving. The coffe was good and the flavour was very strong but came without the acidic or bitter aftertaste(ish). The intention was to buy a coffee to go but I ended up chatting to a very knowledgeable staff for an hour's or so.
We chatted about everything from the coffeplant, how they they procceses the coffebean, to coffe app for independent cafe, to which coffebean is the best in the world. I was in awww with her knowledge. I mean the place is is dedicated to coffe, on the wall big poster shows what type of coffe drinks, the machine to grind the beans and flowchart of making a coffe.
Needless to say, I left that cafe with more knowledge about the coffe than I knew before...
