We had high hopes for Daisy Green given the location and sunny day, but unfortunately, our experience was a bit disappointing from the start.
When we arrived, there were a few empty seats on the ground floor with lovely sunlight, but we were told we’d be seated downstairs instead. The basement space had little natural light and an unpleasant smell, which made it uncomfortable to sit in.
When the waitress came to take our drinks order, we asked for an iced latte and a flat white. Then the waitress asked and I quote: “should I bring over some water too?”. Naturally, we assumed this meant tap water, as is standard in most cafes. Instead, we were brought a huge glass-bottle of water (made with ethical glass😭), which we later found out was quite expensive for water. While we’re not opposed to paying for bottled water if it’s made clear, the way it was presented felt misleading.
After a bit, we asked to be moved upstairs, which we appreciated being allowed to do. However, when ordering online we noticed there was a 64p service fee — something that wasn’t explained either.
Just a lot of sneaky extra charges and overall unnecessarily expensive stuff. I realise we’re in London and I don’t mind paying extra for a nice experience but this just didn’t feel like a nice atmosphere.
For example, a brownie was £4 but £4.80 to eat in😮 pancakes were over £14, and banana bread with cream was £14.50 — very steep for what you get. Though for the banana bread they worded it as “Award winning banana bread sandwich” which I guess makes them think they can charge more lol?
Overall, the cafe is cute & instagrammable but the combination of unclear communication, inflated prices, and extra fees left us feeling a bit taken advantage of. A disappointing visit that didn’t live up to expectations, especially...

My husband and I were looking for a cosy spot for brunch before our journey home, and I came across Daisy Green onlin. I believe it’s part of a restaurant group where each location has a different name to reflect local character — a nice touch.
We went to this Daisy Green in Marylebone. Our reservation was for 11am, and when we arrived at 10:55, the place was already buzzing — always a good sign! Despite the crowd, we were seated fairly quickly in the downstairs outdoor area, which was lovely on a sunny day.
We were starving, so we ordered three dishes: one to share, and a main each. Every dish was delicious and surprisingly creative. The bacon roll came in a naan-like crepe rather than the usual brioche or bun, and the Dirty Daisy — with chorizo, potatoes, poached eggs and more — was full of flavour and texture.
Coffee was a bit on the bitter side for our taste, but the warm and friendly service more than made up for it. Staff checked in on us a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed.
All in all, a satisfying brunch and a spot we’d...
