We visited DanDan on a whim while they were holding an offer on their noodle dishes which was really lucky! We tried the thin cut noodle beef ribs ramen soup as well as the beef brisket with tomato soup and rice noodles and came back another time to try the beef ribs. I was going to say that the base tasted exactly the same and so did the beef and that I was not sure what the difference was. But looking at my receipt, I can see that the girl who took our order got both of our dishes wrong but we only noticed that my sister’s was wrong. So I tried the beef rib noodle dish on both visits. 🥲 About the dish: I love that the dish was not too soupy at all and the portion is huge but oddly manageable. I’m not very familiar with Chinese restaurants but it tasted authentic to me and not spicy. I saw a lot of delicious dishes coming out of the kitchen that I think might be better suited to my taste. Like the aubergine and prawn dishes. As well as fried chicken. I’m more of a rice person too. So I’ll definitely come back to try those another time. I think there’s definitely something for everyone. The staff can be a bit aloof sometimes but they’re always on the floor, you just might need to call for them as they’re not actively looking at the customers to see if they need something. They are very helpful, accommodating and do a decent job explaining the menu. I also love that they told us about the offer that was taking place.

I couldn’t have been happier with my order! My top recommendation is the beef rib knife-cut noodles, this was an outstanding dish I’d happily order again any time. The noodles had that homemade taste and texture, and the beef was perfectly tender. I also tried the braided aubergine with minced pork, which is listed as a main. While it was the most flavorful dish of the night, a beautifully balanced mix of sweet and spicy, I think it works better as a side. The texture leans quite soft, so pairing it with something crisp or crunchy would really elevate the experience. The smacked cucumber with peanut sauce was another pleasant surprise. Refreshing, generously portioned, and full of flavor. My dinner partner ordered the Gong Bao chicken, which was sweet, crunchy, and delicious, as well as the chicken noodle soup, which was unfortunately quite bland in comparison to everything else. The service, while having a few small hiccups in communication at first, was ultimately very accommodating, especially when I asked for the spice levels to be made milder, which I really appreciated. Overall, the meal was fantastic, portions were generous, and I’m already looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu! P.S. Booking a table in advance is advised.

I was lucky enough to get a spot on the last day of their soft launch. The place looks beautiful, with a relaxed atmosphere. Considering that it was a new place, I was very excited about trying a few different things, so I've ordered salt and pepper crispy squid, seaweed salad, rice, and a couple of less common dishes: cold pig ear with cucumbers, and as a main, a mixture of offal (pork, tripe, intestines, blood) in a Sechuan spicy sauce. Everything tasted as good as I expected. The seaweed salad was twice the size of the portions they serve in Japanese restaurant, and the offal mix was GIGANTIC. It came with Chinese cabbage slices and sweet potatoes wide noodles, which was unexpected. The pork was actually Spam, but it was so soft and delicious, I didn't mind. The tripe and the intestines were chewy and tasty, and the sauce was amazing. Loved the cabbage too. Since the portion was so huge, the staff were very kind and gave me a takeaway box and a branded insulated bag, so I could save the leftover main. Looking forward to going back ASAP. Everything else looked delicious, a noodle dish with beef and pickles, the crispy duck pancakes, a beautiful prawns dish that came over hot fire, the wonton starter, looking forward to trying more stuff

Went yesterday evening. Appalling service We ordered at the same time as the table next to us. The starters came out in a timely fashion. But we had to wait over 30 minutes for our mains. In this time the table next to us that had ordered at the same time both recieved and FINISHED there food in the time our still hadnt come out. 6 tables that were seated and ordered after us receieved all theyre food before us- we only ordered 2 mains. 10 minutes after the table that ordered at the same time as us got their food i finally managed to flag down a staff member and asked where our food was. He proceeds to go to the counter, check and not reply even when i made eye contact with him several times. Whats proceeded was several staff members glancing over guiltily, but no one apoligizing for the delay or letting us know whats going on. At this point, myself and my friend had been more than graceful and asked for the bill for our starters and drinks, the staff member who originaly took our order said 'ah but your food is nearly here' as though we were being unreasonable. We stayed and ate bc by this time we were starving. No apology, no accountability and by the time we got our food we'd been passed round 3 or 4 staff members

To conclude food is ok we waited for over 30 minutes after we finished out starters for our mains over 6 tables got served before us even though we ordered before we were ignored by staff when asking the expected time for the food we received no apology

I will not recommend this...
