I wouldn't recommend anyone to go Efes unless you want to be charged double, and then made to run around trying to get your money back that you are owed, with no prevail. As you will see I have rated this a 1 as I dont think it deserves a rating. Unfortunately there was no minus rating. To warn others I went to Efes with friends in November, and whilst this was not the main issue the food and service was average. However in receiving my bank statement a month later I saw that they had charged me twice! Note: this isn't the first time they have done this either based on other reviews. I can understand they may have made a mistake, and this is understandable and can happen sometimes. However the problem lied with the level of service provided after this and trying to get the money back that I was owed at fault of the restaurant. Number of problems I experienced: the restaurant and the manager being unresponsive, numerous emails and calls made, eventually when I did speak to the manager, rather than making checks on their side and looking into their own systems, I was made to provide countless statements and receipts via email. Again even after providing these, and numerous messages sent, I got no response back. Eventually I was told they would refund me the amount, however in chasing them to confirm this was completed, no response, and having checked I still havent been refunded. I have since escalated to my bank.

This has been a very frustrating experience, even though I have been co-operative with them and given them all the information that they wanted, even I have had to take time addressing this, even though the fault lied with them and their team charging me twice. Rather than me sending them statements and bills they should've been able to check in their own system, this entry being billed twice and automatically refund me the duplicate, avoiding any customer effort and strain. There has not been any apology or customer compensation.

I would not...

I had lunch at Efes with a friend mid week and it was a very pleasant experience. We sat outside in the canopied area with a glass divider protectin departing us from the passers by. The service was attentive and friendly. We began with sautéed lamb liver, grilled halloumi and cheese filled filo pastry. The latter was my favourite. These were all served with a mini salad. Once we had finished our starters, everything was cleared and our main was served. We had the Efes lamb fillet and lamb Iskender kebab. The fillet is usually served with rice but I prefer bulgur and they accommodated me. I’ve had many Iskender kebabs over the years and this was definitely within my top 5 experiences, including the ones in Istanbul. The lamb fillet was also very tender but there was quite a chunky bit of fat surrounding it that hadn’t been rendered down. It came off easily and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The drinks menu was huge. We went for Ayran, which was delish. We finished our lunch off with a hefty black tea. I’m really glad I found Efes. I know it’s been around for over 50 years and I wish them continued success. I’ll...

My experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. The customer-friendly atmosphere, coupled with the genuinely funny staff, made every visit enjoyable. The live music nights on Fridays and Saturdays added a vibrant touch, creating a lively and entertaining dining experience.

Now, onto the food – the quality was unparalleled. The Turkish kebabs were a highlight; their flavors were exquisite, making them a must-try. The excellent manager, Mr. Ergin, played a significant role in ensuring the overall success of the restaurant. His attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction were evident.

What truly sets this place apart is the sense of being part of a family when you're there. The welcoming ambiance and warm staff make you feel right at home. This restaurant is not just a dining experience; it's a memorable journey where the combination of outstanding food, live music, and a friendly environment creates an unforgettable evening. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a taste of Turkish excellence and...

This authentic Turkish restaurant is part of the famous Efes chain. Efes restaurants are mainly in East London, but some may remember Efes II in Grt Portland St, this is the same owner Kazim. Very popular with London Black Taxi drivers, who always know where to get a good food & a kebab. Takeaway available, but be prepared to wait a bit for quality food. Efes is Good for solo diners, couples and large groups. I recommend you make a reservation, so not to be disappointed. Vegetarian, Fish, Halal available as well as special dietary requests. The owner insists on the very best quality meats, you won't be disappointed! Efes Restaurant is a 5 minute walk from Warren Street or Goodge St tube stations, less than 10 minutes from Tottenham Court Road. A good choice of traditional English pubs nearby, I recommend The King & Queen or Lore of the Land. Special dietary requirements catered for please ask. Enjoy your experience. We booked 12 friends for a late Xmas lunch & staid for dancing & drinks until late.

Today turned into a special day. Walked.to an AGM which then turned to a Turkish vegetarian food talk which then turned into going to Fees to taste some of the amazing dishes which were prepared for our special group. It is great to be fed when least expecting it, it is even nicer to be fed very well. Each dish that we were served was not only plentiful they were all vegetarian and most vegan. The soup was perfect as was all of the other courses that were spread out in plentiful fashion. We were even given our desert as we paid a few of us had no choice but to leave early. Thank you to Ergin and his team of very capable chefs and servers. The price was of good value too! A great Turkish meal after listening to the very warm and amazing Özlem Warren! Her book Sebze is a sheer delight that was an icing on my cake! Enjoy!
