Came here after reading good reviews, and the restaurant did not disappoint. The food was delicious, I loved the pizza base, and the toppings were great. I chose one with truffle oil and parmesan, and my friend got the calzone, and we shared. It was good that we could share, though, as I think just having one topping may have gotten a bit monotonous, even though it tasted delicious. For desserts, I got the traditional tiramisu, and my friend got the banana and nutella special tiramisu. I preferred the traditional one as the special one felt a bit heavier with the Nutella bit that may just be my preference. The only slightly disappointing dish was the burata. I've had it at other Italian restaurants and it's usually delicious but this one didn't taste as good and the bread which came with it was a bit dense and heavy. So I preferred the focaccia bread (which was actually their pizza base). Their starter portions are also actually quite big, so we should've only ordered one to share between us as we then couldn't finish our mains. The service was also good and I enjoyed the pizzas so I would come back!

When a restaurant has the tagline "The best pizza in London" you tend to think one of two things: either they're crazy and just hyping themselves up, or they really mean it. Luckily, in this instance, they really do mean it. The pizzas at Santa Maria are some of the best I've tasted in London at all - the pizzas are delectably juicy, with a nice firm and crispy base and an oozingly gooey heart. They do not skimp with their ingredients, and it shows, when you cut into a slice and watch the pizza bleed mozzarella and tomato sauce (in a good way). Every bite leaves you with a mouth watering satisfaction and I really am trying not to over exaggerate here. This place is definitely a must visit if you're a pizza fan, it tends to be quiet at around 2pm so if you're a late-luncher like me then you're in for a treat. The staff are super friendly and very attentive, and the selection of pizzas and starters are wide ranging in their flavours and even accessibility - with Santa Maria boasting their new Vegan pizzas (which I've yet to try but have heard good things about). Definitely and highly recommended.

Attracted by the hype around this pizzeria Santa Maria I decided to try it on Saturday and I was quite disappointed. The pizza was the San Matteo and the ingredients were Buffalo mozzarella DOP, mushrooms, truffle oil, parmesan shavings with additional sausage. The dough was dry, the flavours of the ingredients were quite bland and towards the end it became very difficult to chew the dough. I generally enjoy eating the "cornicione" but in this case it was almost painful to finish it. Also, I tried their own Santa Maria IPA, with a nice hint of orange, but I wouldn't drink more than a can of it. They define themselves as "Pizzeria Napoletana", but this pizza is really far away from a Neapolitan style pizza. From the taste of the dough, it almost seems like they use bread flour for the dough instead of the specific pizza flour, but I might be wrong. The service was nice and quick though, the guys serving the customers deserve to be praised. I am afraid that now that the big Neapolitan pizza boys are in town, these guys need to step up their game if they want to keep up!

I have been for. My first time eating pizza in this store... I was very excited to try their pizza because I know Santa Maria as my favourite pizza in London! Me and my friends have got the worst pizza ever.. The Tomato sauce was uncooked and mozzarella cheese not melted at all and the pizza dough as burnt teast.. I did not really want to complain, even if the waitress attitude was not professional.. I v been asking if they could kindly do my pizza again and cooking it better... The second time.my pizza was even worst.. I suppose to have ricotta cheese in my pizza stuffed cornice but actually it was super.dry and my pizza was much smoller Than the first one.. When we kindly asked for the bill,it happened the last rudest episode. .the lovely girl who was in charge for the orders i guess, gave us a pot with our bill in bringing it with violence on the table..we were completely shocked about this attitude...I m a loyalest customer in your other stores..and every one of your team is been always been amazing to me..I always left kind reviews for your Ealing store on Facebook, and their pizza and service is.the best ever in whole London...but this store in Tottenham Court Road made me feel very sick..and disappointed...my friend left all mozzarella from her pizza...it was 22.00 o clock and we were starving..we.could not leave that horrible experience and go for something else. ..but I Do not recommend to any one this store.. I suggest to some.area manager to do more often some.Audit on quality of the food and customer service. . Apologise for.my review. ..again..I never left a bad feedback. .but I do really think that sometimes we can learn from.our mistake how to be a better person and appreciate more the job that we do..offering our best..I paid my pizza regularly and I feel even guilty for writing this long review...but I had a surgery to.my stomach in the past..and tonight I felt very bad..and nd this is not nice..specially if nobody apologise when you leave the store. ..we are all tired..if understand..but that does not mean that we do a bad job..if we don't feel at our best for one day ..we should be at...

Hands down the worst pizza I've ever had! Worse than a frozen pizza, worse than Domino's or Papa John's, many times worse than Franco Manca or Pizza Pilgrim's. The dough was overly chewy and burnt (so chewy that not even the pigeons of Regents Park could eat it). My pizza (Napoli) was extremely salty. I understand that the ingredients of this particular pizza are by their nature salty, but when you literally put olives from a jar of brine straight onto a pizza post cooking (i.e. without cooking them) what do you expect?! I've had this particular combination of ingredients many times and it has never been anywhere near as salty as the pizza I had from here. The basil also seems to have been subjected to the full heat of the oven which cause the herb to lose its aromatic flavour and become bitter. My partner's vegan pizza was the most tasteless pizza I have ever tasted. Again, overly chewy and burnt base, tasteless vegetables and cheese, no herbs or seasonings to speak of. The presentation of both pizzas was extremely unappetising too. It seems that standards have dropped hugely as our pizzas looked nothing like the pictures you see in older reviews. When you can't make a pizza with love and attention for the only two customers you have at the time, what chance do you have in this current environment?! I was able to make a far superior sourdough pizza myself during the lockdown first try without even using a wood fired oven. Next time I will make my own.

Edit: today I've woken up and had to run to the toilet. Make your own mind up...

I booked Santa Maria Pizzeria for my work leaving dinner as I read many great reviews online saying the food was tasty but affordable along with the vibrant atmosphere. I was greatly disappointed. I had booked the table for 15 people on Friday 10th November eve, the restaurant called me several times in the weeks running up to the date constantly getting the date / time / number of people wrong and I kept having to remind them. Firstly, they did not reserve a table of 15 for me. A few of my guests arrived late and the waiter rudely refused them into the restaurant stating there was no room - this was because the restaurant weirdly decided to give away the last part of my table to another couple who were dining. Furthermore, there was a hair in one of my friends pizza, to which the waiter rudely commented and made a snide remark suggesting it was her own. Next, this same waiter abruptly took my friends plate whilst there was still pizza on it and he was still eating. And to top it all off, we were told there were only two desserts left to pick from. I highly suspect that this was purely because they could not be bothered to serve up 12 desserts being so close to closing time. The pizza itself was delicious and the rest of the staff were lovely, unfortunately it was the lack of manners and decency of the waiter that let the...
