TL; DR - eye wateringly expensive McDonlads clone in East Village which has nice flavours but the service is poor and over all it’s not worth the very high prices.
I’m an East Village local and I came for brunch on a Sunday about 1pm. It was not busy at all, then suddenly became about 1/3rd full. The atmosphere is distinctly canteen. There is a lack of menus on the tables so you have to hover by a large screen which has a menu on it, or better take a photo of it on your phone and then grab a table and choose what you want. A menu on each table or a QR code on the table would be a lot better.
My single interaction was trying to get some sauce which I’d paid for but wasn’t in the McDonalds style brown paper bag of food I received. I stood at the counter for about 5 minutes with a member of staff tapping on a cash register right in front of me trying not to make eye contact. The manager then came out the back and gave me some sauce.
The food. It’s tasty. I had the pork romesco sandwich which had a good amount of pork in it, but the brioche bun tasted stale and it wasn’t toasted. For £11.95 I’d expect more. The hash browns look similar and taste like more processed crunchier versions of the McDonald’s ones.
We had a crème brûlée donut which was a nice touch and tasted like you would imagine.
Overall two dined, we each had a brunch item like a sandwich and the hash browns. I didn’t have a drink because they were £5 each. Our total bill £42.75.
My recommendation is to go to...

I love all things #egg and fell in love with their Fairfax sandwich years ago (creamy scrambled eggs and melty cheese in a pillowy brioche bun) so I’ve been dying to go back ever since to try the rest of their menu and the Fairfax was as good as I remember.
I was really looking forward to trying the “Slut” as there are few things in life better than dipping toast into a runny egg but alas it wasn’t meant to be… the yolk was set on the coddled egg so it was more like spearing the yolk as opposed to dipping it.
The truffle hash browns were good but didn’t taste of truffle. The egg mayo sandwich was dry sand needed to be brought up to room temp (bread was dry and filling was fridge cold). Shame as I’m an egg mayo addict ☹️
The “Gaucho” (Wagyu, egg, chimichurri) was unfortunately bland and the raw garlic kick was overpowering.
I’ll definitely go back for the Fairfax and to give the other menu items a go but not quite the restaurant of my dreams that I’d imagined.

Read moreDefinitely would outright recommend to anyone and everyone. The range in menu is truly delectable, if you are a fan of eggs, or not (no I am serious there is an option to outright remove the egg from the sandwich of choice), then this is the place for you. I was floored to find out this place was also halal certified, I personally would recommend the salmon sandwich, it was so creamy, so soft in texture and biting into it along with salmon, extremely tantalising for the tastebuds. It was all made fresh, the brioche bun was soft and had a right balance in richness. The coffee, where do I even begin. The coffee was just right in temperature, creamy latte art was nice to see and the taste itself was marvellous, I might need to find out where the beans are from as an avid coffee lover myself because it was, is, and forever will be a top tier contender for me. I intend to try the chicken sandwich next, just reading it off the menu was mouth watering, and as a local I would totally be coming back for many,...
