Not Allergy Conscience

I have a severe allergy to gluten, where I can go into anaphylaxis and explained I have an allergy to a staff member before ordering.

When the food came it was all on top of pita bread which should not have been the case after explaining my allergy and ordering it without bread. It’s quite a serious error and careless of the restaurant. If I haven’t noticed or if it was someone who didn’t know it contained gluten like someone young or elderly someone could of ended up in hospital. Once I told the staff about the bread and that I could not eat it I didn’t even receive an apology until the end when I asked for the service charge to be removed.

The service was all over the place. They got our reservation time wrong and expected us for 19:30 when we booked 18:30 which is also what the confirmation email said, they offered me Bulgar after I had explained that I’m allergic to gluten and they gave us the wrong bill upon payment.

The food was satisfactory/okay but unfortunately tainted by the poor service. I was also a bit worried that there could be cross contamination as they may have potentially just slide the bread out from underneath the meat rather than making a new meal as it came up only a couple mins later from the kitchen from when they took it back.

On a good note the vibe, decor and DJ were very good.

However unfortunately due to my my experience I won’t be returning. But hope they please improve their allergy conscience and training for other customers who may suffer...

I have visited several Turkish restaurants across London. Today we decided to give this place a try in the heart of Ealing Broadway. We ordered the mixed grill for two coming at £65 at time of writing.

The presentation was excellent. The lamb chops, both adanas and both shish were tasty and well seasoned, definitely up to the standard I expect. The portion sizes were excellent as this filled the two of us with leftovers that we took away. The only drawback was the lamb ribs which were a little inconsistent as some were overly salty and some were fine. I did tell the owner and he was incredibly respectful and receptive to the feedback. I would have also liked a bit of variety in the accompanying salad and a bit of butter in the rice/bulgur would be nice. The service is full of happy faces and the waitress was very attentive. We were given complimentary baklava and offered tea at the end too which is something that many competing restaurants will overlook so is very much appreciated here and definitely a staple in Turkish hospitality. The decor and seating were nice too and I am a fan of the colour scheme of green and copper.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those looking to experience real Turkish cuisine (actual traditional flavours not takeaway), and it is nice being local here in Ealing where normally I would travel up to Haringey/Green Lane for this kind of meal. oh my gosh, i am absolutely obsessed with this place. i went here last night for my parents wedding anniversary and also my birthday the week before and both times we had the most beautiful night. it was an emotional wedding anniversary celebration as my dad had passed away a few weeks before and it would have been my parents 50th anniversary - my mum, my brother and i decided to celebrate it anyway. the whole team were so gentle and kind to me, my brother and my mum, they constantly checked in to make sure we were having a good evening and went out of their way to make the evening so special. i want to say a massive thank you to the manager Shy - she was so professional, attentive and welcoming and really made the restaurant feel like home and went so out of her way to make sure we had a lovely experience. this is for sure my family and i’s new go to place - the food is DELICIOUS. the portions are amazing and it’s all so fresh. we had the kalamar, cacik, mixed grill, lamb shish, greek salad and baba ganoush. all were absolutely unbelievable. i’d never had turkish food before coming here and now my new favourite cuisine is turkish food!!! this restaurant will see a lot more of us - so glad that ealing has opened such a beautiful place!! also the interior inside is so beautiful!! huge thank you to the entire team - we can’t wait to...
