SUPERB! 🤩 Last night I had the pleasure of dining once again at one of my favourite restaurants. From the moment you step foot into the establishment, you know you’re in for something extraordinary. First and foremost, the service was absolutely phenomenal. Every single member of the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met and our desires were fulfilled. However, it was the restaurant manager, Ellen, who I have had the pleasure of meeting on a previous visit who truly stole the show. Her warm and welcoming demeanor set the tone for the entire evening, and she personally ensured that every part of our dining experience was catered to and flawless. Attention to detail is often a key differentiating factor in the restaurant industry, especially when trying to replicate the incredible visual impact of what can be seen on the business Instagram page. Our order was taken with great care especially when taking into consideration some specific requests to change elements of the order. Each item was prepared and presented flawlessly. It was truly a feast for the eyes as each dish arrived at our table and created quite a buzz around the surrounding diners. This is possibly in part due to me indulging in 3 x starters and 3 x burgers plus sides to myself which did look almost comical laid out on the table in front of where I was seated. So now, let's talk about the food itself. The flavor profile of the wings we had as a starter was simply outstanding. The crack wings are just a must try! And oh, the cheese ball starter! The sight of that cheese ball being pulled apart with melty cheese oozing out was nothing short of captivating. The flavors were exquisite, leaving us wanting more with each bite. A heavy starter so always a good idea to share these monster balls! When it came to the main course, the burgers stole the show. The PB+JJ burger, in particular, deserves a special mention. This masterpiece of a burger can only be described as a must on every food lover's bucket list. The combination of savory peanut butter, tangy jelly, and perfectly seasoned meat created a flavor explosion that took my taste buds on a wild, unforgettable ride. In conclusion, this restaurant exceeded my expectations in every possible way, again! The amazing service, attention to detail, and incredible presentation of food left a lasting impression. The warm and welcoming presence of manager Ellen ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was superbly orchestrated. If you haven't yet had the pleasure of indulging in the flavor journey this restaurant has to offer, do yourself a favor and make a reservation today. You won't be disappointed.

I recently visited The Fat Hippo after seeing positive TikTok reviews, but my experience was nothing like what was advertised. We ordered the cheese balls and buffalo wings as starters. When they arrived, they were lukewarm at best. We had requested side plates since we were sharing, but the server forgot them. It took another six minutes before another staff member brought them, by which time our food had gone completely cold. The cheese balls, which looked amazing in videos—dripping with melted cheese—were instead cold and flavorless. The manager did replace them, but even the second batch lacked any real taste. Our main courses arrived just minutes after the replacement starters, making the whole experience feel rushed. We ordered the Semi-Parmed Life burger and Wachos. The Wachos were bland and missing cheese, which was bizarrely served on the side. The supposed “guacamole” was nothing more than green-tinted sour cream, a far cry from what it should have been. The Semi-Parmed Life burger was also underwhelming, but what really stood out was the red slaw—it was completely unseasoned, so much so that even salt and pepper couldn’t save it. It felt like an afterthought on the plate rather than a proper side. To top it off, the toilets were filthy—tissue and water everywhere, visibly unclean, and one of the taps wasn’t even working. I’ve been to nightclubs with far better-maintained facilities. When I brought this up with the manager, her response was shockingly rude—she sighed, rolled her eyes, and just said “okay” with no apology or concern. Despite all of this, we still paid the service charge, though in hindsight, it was undeserved. Between bland food, poor hygiene, and dismissive service, this was a waste of £50. I would strongly advise against visiting. If the front-of-house cleanliness is this bad, I can’t imagine what’s happening in the kitchen. This place is all hype and no substance. Avoid.

Prebooked a table for 8 people for a 5pm reservation for a Birthday. We were kept waiting outside for 10 minutes while our table was being sorted but we didn’t mind the wait. We first ordered our drinks. At 5:50pm we were still waiting for our drinks. Food was served at 6 which some of our table was still missing drinks. The waitress then returned and said “sorry we are out of lager”. The guys in our group reordered and the waitress came back 10 minutes later with a can of beer maybe ipa ? and said “sorry it’s not chilled is that okay?” This took another 10 minutes of waiting for another drink to be brought out. We all started eating our food. The chips were cold and the chicken burger tasted very oily and the meat inside was questionable. We asked for condiments but these were served after our meal had finished. The fried chicken burger and Frickles tasted like they had been cooked in old oil and the coating was very greasy. We had brought a birthday cake to be served after the meal, this took another 20 minutes of asking and waiting on multiple staff and we actually had to leave because we had another booking after. So we had to take the cake to go. It was a painful experience getting the bill, asking multiple members of staff. When paying we asked for the service to be taken off the bill and when we received the bill again this still had not been taken off. We left the majority of our food and left hungry, we won’t be returning. We had to get more food later and was really disappointed as we where looking forward to this place but definitely would not recommend.
