Favorite Chicken Bethnal Green — Restaurant in London

First time eating at this branch of Favourites. I ordered the 1 piece, two wings meal, with a separate drink as it doesn't come in the deal. The whole thing cost around a fiver which is about the standard price currently for similar budget meals in these kinds of shops.

First the positives: the fries were hot and fresh while the sauces were free in bottles with ketchup, chilli and mayo on display. They provide a wet wipe, couple tissues and a plastic fork. The drink was cold and the wings were actually nice and spicy.

The negatives now and reason for the 1 star review. A chicken thigh piece is the Hardest to get right as we all know which is why I always order it to really test a shops cooking skill. This one failed miserably was so bad there was still blood visible and not cooked long enough. The wings had the same issue. I ate the skin and a very small part of the chicken but threw away the rest in order to avoid the consequences of a whole day passing it out of both ends. Not a very pretty picture by anyone's standards. Upon reading other reviews of this branch I'd say the cooking of their meat and poultry is an ongoing issue here they are extremely lucky to still be open even! Over the past year or so I’ve been on a mission to find the best chicken shops in London, due to the fact that I’ve seen a general fall in their quality over the years. I miss how it used to taste when I was a kid, so when I find a good shop it’s refreshing to see theres shops still dedicated to dishing out quality food.

Wings were banging. They are actual hot wings not lightly seasoned wings that most people are serving. They have a delicious coating and were tender. Good to see they have flat wings as these are my favourite. Bbq wings were on point too.

Chips were nice and they’re mayo is thick, creamy and sweet - the expensive type.

The chicken piece (I had side breast) was a little dry but flavours were there, maybe the flavours could be a bit more distinct, but still it was nice.

The fillet burger (or sub) was so nice. Thick fillets, available in normal or spicy were delicious. Proper nice, remember the satisfaction you had when you had a good fillet burger after school? Yeah this is the same...

This is one of my favourite Fried chicken shop. I only come here for the Chicken Burgers. (I prefer normal as oposed to spicy) The burgers here are big and juicy and have a bite to them. Some times it can be hit and miss with the burgers - it is noticeable to me because I eat here all the time since its early years. When the buns are fresh and the chicken fillet is piping hot - only then can you taste this burger. Its very satisfying!

Chicken pieces taste good when they are fresh but very dry when they have been sitting for a while.

I have tried the BBQ ribs here on seveal ocassions - dont get them if they are not fresh as they tend to be very chewy.
