Went into Café 338 for lunch today. I find it friendly and cheap in there and the sort of place you can go alone and feel comfortable. I was a bit puzzled about the prices today though. I had one slice of tomato and avocado on toast and one slice of cheese and pesto on toast and a tea. When the bill came, I thought it seemed as if I had been charged a little too much. I queried it with the manager and he explained that because I had two different things on the menu, they only take off 50p for each slice of toast and basically charge the same as you would pay for two slices of toast with each meal. Confusing for me as I am now wondering does this mean that you get the same amount of toppings on one slice as you would on two? If not, then I feel I was overcharged.
