came here with my 80yr old father on a very hot day as he was thirsty and wanted some water as well as d a cup of tea. When ordering I was told water only came in a can, when I asked for a slice of lemon for my tea I was told "there's no lemon" (no explanation offered), the waitress asked me if I wanted anything else and I asked for some rum, only to be told there was no rum. After placing my order, we sat down inside as my father needed some shade, when I asked the waitress if our drinks would be brought over, the waitress curtly told me "no". When I finally got my takeaway, my hot drinks came without lids and I had to ask for these. We left and minutes later I realised they forgot to give me my sugar, I went back to ask for this and was rudely told to wait. When I tried to calmly tell the waitress about my customer experience they did not look at me when addressing me and continuously interrupted me before I could finish a sentence. Extremely disappointing experience here. We waited an hour and a half for our lunch and ended up leaving having only been given one tea in that time. Initially we were asked to wait 15 minutes before ordering which we were happy to do, however, several tables who arrived after us did not and they had eaten and left before we were even informed our order had been lost. We ordered lunch a second time, 45 minutes after arriving. After another 15 minutes we asked if we could at least have our drinks and whilst the staff member apologised he also said other people had waited longer... we were then given one of the three drinks we’d ordered. An hour and a half after arriving we were then told that they were out of apple juice, the other drinks we’d ordered. At this point it became apparent our lunch here was a lost cause and in any event no longer wished to pay money to this establishment. Before I go into my scathing review, please note this review is no reflection on the staff who are awesome, nor the coffee or food when it can actually be served.

This business should lose the social license it has to operate at the pool for the following reasons:

1. what cafe serving the regular swimmers & gym users decides that serving food from 11am is ok? (Croissants are not regular food).

2. locking the gate & shutting pool side service so no swimmer can access even a coffee without having to exit the pool, walk around the building, then line back up to enter again. The vast majority are honest paying swimmers on memberships & are not looking for free entry via the cafe.

3. peak times which are the same every week the cafe is understaffed leading to crazy waiting times. Many times customers just give up & go elsewhere which I’ve done yet again today.

4. Even the decision to have a pizza shop serving at a health facility is short sighted… replace this operator with decent healthy food and breakfast options from 7:30am when the bulk of users...
