Pity. Regular @ FM in Bermondsey but obviously not for at least 2 years now. Tried a click and collect from FM in Earl's Court. Forced to create an account which kept giving an error message when paying. Discovered that they store your credit card details without consent although they force you to create and account to order. So called-in the order - waitress with an American accent was very pleasant, took the order and told me it would take 10-15min. It's just round the corner so I turned up @ about 12 min. Sweltering hot in the restaurant. The girl with the same accent was very different when I told her I was collecting the phoned-in order. Told me it would be another 10-15min. It was too hot to wait in the restaurant and she didn't care if I had to wait standing on the sidewalk due to her error in timing ...if it's going to take 25min tell me and I'll turn up then ... Simple ... After another 10min another waitress told me that that waitress was "boxing up" the pizzas ... I told her that if the pizzas are baked in a wood fired oven they would usually take 20min and she proudly told me that this oven takes 50secs! I replied that it was already taking 20min....Waited another almost 10 min when I was told that the pizzas were "just going into the oven"! Appalling service! Anyway, fortunately the quality of the pizzas and the salad (really great fresh quality ingredients) saved a potential 2-star review ... It's just the service (and note a similar bad review about the same branch restaurant 5mo ago) was just terrible. Anchovies, spiced salami, the bresaola and esp the mozzarella (it just bursts in your mouth) and the roasted tomatoes - all superb quality. The sourdough base is lovely - flavoured and chewy but the 50sec oven says it all - the base is too charred and the charred areas overpower the flavour of the sourdough. Would be better in a traditional wood...

Read moreGreat pizza but really poor service at this particular branch in Earlâs court. I visited Franco Manca in many places but I was disappointed for the first time. Firstly, the waitress barely spoke any English and could not explain to us what exactly were wild broccoli. She asked another guy to come and explain and he said that they just have ânormal broccoliâ. So we decided to add broccoli on one of the pizzas. But as it turns out it was a different kind of broccoli from what we expected and did not like the taste. When we asked the male waiter later I think he said it is called ârapiniâ. Anyhow, they charged us an extra ÂŁ1.60 for this vegetable that we didnât eat at the end. Secondly, the waitress asked us if we would like any tomato sauce on the pizza without mentioning that there is an extra charge for it. We said ok and when the bill came we realised that they charged us for the sauce too. Thirdly, our bill total was ÂŁ22 and we asked to pay by card. The male waiter took the card and tapped it on the machine without showing us what he was doing which I thought was a bit odd and unusual. I took the card receipt and saw that instead of charging us ÂŁ22 as was shown on the bill he had charged us ÂŁ25. We didnât say anything as we wanted to avoid an awkward situation but we felt really disappointed in the service and it felt like we were stolen. Itâs such a shame as we are regular customers of Franco Manca and we hope that this doesnât happen again to us or anyone else...
