Ordered via a delivery service and when the pizza arrived it was cold, had the wrong toppings, of which there was hardly any of and the base was a bit raw. I called the branch to let them know as it was inedible. They advised that I deserved a refund but would have to go through the delivery service. I tried this but it became such a hassle as the staff at Franco Manca told me to say something specific to the delivery service so they would not question a refund, when I done this the delivery service wanted a photo as proof- which I did not have because my issue did not match what Franco Manca had TOLD me to say! When it became impossible to get my refund through their suggested channel they advised the will reimburse me themselves as it was their mistake. I then spent two weeks making numerous phone calls, waiting for the 'manager' to get back to me to confirm refund, they always had an excuse when I called. Eventually I got hold of someone who now decided I couldn't get a refund but I can have a replacement pizza, but only if I make the journey to go and pick it up?! The restaurant is not walking distance from me so I would of had to get a train or taxi to collect it (not that I wanted to risk another one of their pizzas!). I was then told again someone will call me back to maybe discuss refund but she clearly wasn't bothered. I have not heard anything since, this was weeks ago. I have never written a bad review as sometimes things just happen, but the real problem started after the inedible pizza, it just frustrated me as I'd spent my money on something that I couldn't eat, and then I had to go through this circus to try and get compensated for something that really wasn't my fault- so I ended up with no refund, no pizza and a bad taste in my mouth. Basically, would not recommend! (If the miraculous get back to me and make me whole I'll be sure to leave that in my second...
Read moregreat pizza, really awful service. We went to the Kilburn branch today. The place was empty so they only had us (2 people) to serve and look after and cook food for. It was mid afternoon. When ordering we made it clear that I was having a pizza and my partner was only having a small bite but that we were eating together. His food came and I was waiting and waiting. I finally asked if my pizza was coming and they said "yes, any minute". I walked over to the oven area after another few minutes and could see that there was still nothing in it but that two of the staff were chatting away, laughing loudly. I said, 'oh, there is nothing in the oven'. They got really angry at me, one of them telling me my partner ordered a starter and I had to wait. I couldn't believe their attitude. If it had just been a mistake on their part, all they had to do was be kind and apologise and say it was a misunderstanding and they would make it quickly. Instead another waiter joined in and we could see they were laughing and talking about us. They finally plonked the plate down on the table with no word. It was really awful. I run my own retail business and I would never in a million years treat any of my customers this way. They were arrogant and rude. What made it even worse, was more staff started arriving then all of the staff treated the place like it was their own living room talking unbelievably loud across the floor to each other and yelling and laughing. It was awful - like it was not a restaurant for the customers but their own social place. I will ever spend another penny in that branch again. The staff should get some training in basic customer service...
Read moreDropped into Franco Manca Kilburn and it hit exactly what you want from a solid pizza spot—warm atmosphere, chill vibe, and seriously legit sourdough pizza.
The space is simple but welcoming, with high ceilings, big windows, and a clear view of the open kitchen where you can see the team tossing dough and firing up pizzas in their proper Neapolitan oven. Casual, no-fuss, but everything feels dialed in.
I went for:
The house-made organic lemonade – light, citrusy, and just sweet enough. Super refreshing.
The Original Margherita (No. 2) – classic tomato, mozzarella and basil combo. The sourdough base was chewy with those charred blisters around the edge, and the tomato sauce had a bright, clean tang. So simple, so good.
Menu has enough variety without being overwhelming, and the sourdough is clearly the star—fermented for 24+ hours for that signature Franco Manca bite. Pricing is super reasonable too for London.
Staff were friendly and efficient—felt looked after without any pressure or over-service. Relaxed and quick, even during a busier evening.
Highlights:
Vibe: Clean, relaxed, open kitchen energy
Pizza: Proper Neapolitan sourdough with great chew and char
Lemonade: House-made and refreshing
Service: Casual but warm and professional
If you're in Maida Vale or near Kilburn Park station and want a proper pizza fix without the frills, this is a no-brainer. Margherita and lemonade combo is...
