Golden Grill and Fish Bar Bermondsey — Restaurant in London

I've always loved this place, haven't been in over a year as I moved, went for a meal for my sons birthday ordered the massive £42 meat platter, food lovely as I remember but who ever that woman is who works there needs to be spoken to! 4 of us and she gives us a saucer size plate to put our food on! She was the most miserable woman I've ever seen, my mum went to put a bag in one of the chairs she gave her a horrible look and took the chair to another table, we kept our coats on as it was freezing and the door was left wide open, staff may be warm as they are in the hot kitchen but please think of your customers! I asked for a box when we left to put the left over meat in and was given a death stare from this woman, I was brave and asked for a carrier bag too 😅 staff used to be so friendly in there. If it wasn't the fact it was my sons birthday I'd have definitely complained to them and had a word with this woman, who also I saw coughing into her hand before putting food into the heated shelf things!!! Disgusting. Unfortunately we won't be coming back

In response to the owner who replied that this is all lies. I wish it was, used to eat from your place all the time when I lived round there. One thing I forgot to add is that I will be reporting to hygiene standards, I have enough photos on my phone. Oh p.s when you serve the large family meat meal on 1 large plate, mabe give extra serving cutlery so we don't have to use our own forks, not very hygienic. I went to Golden Grill and fish bar on spa rd on 18th September 3018 at approx 8.30pm. I have heard things abt the shop before but liked the food and live close so I go anyway. I purchased 1chicken and chips and 3 hot wings. I went home and sat down after a hard days work, started eating a few chips and was shocked to see a huge dead fried insect inside the chicken box, it was crispy and black (I have pictures). I am not a fussy eater nor do I ever leave reviews in fact I have never left a review of anything!..

Having found the huge insect I proceeded back to the shop, kept my cool even though I was horrified. I went in and showed them the insect in the box and they denied it straight away at first, said “this can happen, it happens everywere” then a young boy in there roughly 19-20 started shouting saying “so what, he don’t care do what you like” so that’s why I’m writing this! I didn’t get an apology! Until I informed them they haven’t apologised!.. I am not the type of person to do this rubbish but an FRIED INSECT! Only to deny it?! I have heard of stories like this since I was young but never ever honestly believed them! Now I have seen it for myself.. I go there which I was trying to explain to them before the guy started going nuts! I live in the area why would I waste my time. Ordered from here on Deliveroo. Have been on a quest for a decent doner kebab as most of them are a drab, grey, greasy and salty mess. Finally think I’ve found the place to satisfy that craving…

The meat was brown rather than grey, actually had flavour, had texture and not overly greasy.

The salad was fresh and plentiful, likewise with the garlic and chilli sauces. The bread was the biggest shock, not your usual drab shop bought pita that is like cardboard. Crisp on the outside, airy and fluffy on the inside. Delicious.

Also nice they served the salad and sauces on the side, kept the salad nice and crisp and fresh.

I optimistically ordered a large not being sure of the portion sizes, since so many places on Deliveroo are shocking and was full halfway through.
