What is the best restaurant in the world? In general that is a place where you are served with a foam of peach and a custard of onion. Table cloth, tie and dimmed conversation.
If that doesn't sound fun to you and you do like seriously good food, go here.
This place is about fun, conversation, and fresh food.
Pro tip: eat the one of the daily specials of the board. Avocado tuna tartar for starters and tagliatelle with sausage and mushrooms. Add a crispy white wine or a ripasso for 30 up to 33 pounds and you're set for the meal you want to go to right before they hang you. Doesn't get better than this.
Top it off with a warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream or a tiramisu.
We have also tasted burrata, caprese, chicken and different pizza's. All fantastic.
Pair this kind of food with the relaxed an joyous atmosphere, and there you go. Let's go with carlsberg and call this one "probably one of of the best restaurants in The world".
If you don't like good food or fun people, you should stil go here. Because of the prices. Starters from under ten to let's say 15 pounds. Mains around 15 (some exceptions), and dessert will set you back shy of 7. A pint of beer around 7 and fun to drink wines about 30 to 35, there you have it.
With recommendations there's always a 'but'. Not with this...
Read moreReally disappointing experience with Cafe Amisha. I called last minute (2040) on a Sunday asking what time the kitchen would close, and whether we could come in around 2100. They said it was open until 2200 and I would have no problem to get a table at 2100, and to just call and confirm when on the way. I called back just after 2100 to confirm we would be there in 5/10 minutes and was abruptly told the kitchen is closed. Disappointed I explained that I had just called and was told that the kitchen is open until 2200, I was passed onto a rather rude gentleman (reading the other reviews I presume that is the owner), who was arguing with me, and blaming me for having not called back sooner. I explained that I will be leaving a review on google so others don’t make the same mistake, and he got even more aggressive, proceeding to shout obscenities down the phone before hanging up on me.
I pass this restaurant almost daily, and have been really excited to try it since moving to the area but I can confidently say they have lost me as a customer, and many others in the neighbourhood.
I think they need to work on their service before anything else, much better competition nearby and in the rest of London.
I won’t be holding my breathe for an apology...
Read moreUanama bellll!! Top, Top, Top!! Cafe' Amisha is the best Italian Restaurant in South-East London. All ingredients come directly from Italy, and all the chefs are Italian. All the waiters and Paola are incredibly kind and attentive. The main Chef, Leo, aka "The Maestro", is impressive. He cooks traditional recipes from Apulia and nationwide Italian food. Fregola, Pizza (ask for tuna and cipolla!) and fish are top at Amisha's cafe. At Easter time, ask for a Pastiera, a traditional Southern Italy Easter cake made. Maestro's pastiera is as good as my mum's. They also have a shop for Italian food which has really good stuff and Italian delicatessens. The owner, Francesco, is amazing. He is the most friendly and the nicest person ever. He is a natural people person, always smiling and happy. He also saved my life during the first lockdown and the food shortage. I bougth everything I needed there. He and his staff also delivered food to my place at any hour, including regular fresh fish deliveries.. He is also actively volunteering to help the NHS and the local community. A living hero, in a few words. He truly deserves a half-body statue at the...
