My family and I, including my husband and our 11 year old son, visited Govinda Restaurant in the UK on 28th April' 2024, drawn by a spontaneous craving for Indian cuisine while in the neighborhood. To my pleasant surprise, I was greeted by Radhe Krishna chantings right outside the restaurant, creating a serene and welcoming atmosphere. Upon entering, I encountered a long queue, a testament to the restaurant's popularity. I ordered two Thali Extravaganza, which offered the most sumptuous, home-cooked style food that any restaurant could provide. The food, service, cleanliness, and overall vibes were beyond commendable. I also participated in a kirtan on the top floor, where they have a small mandir, adding to the magical experience. This place captivated me so much that I returned the next day for dinner. The menu for the Extravaganza Thali was different, yet equally delightful. Their shrikhand is extraordinary, and the chaas is a must-try. Though a little late, I couldn't miss leaving a review for this super delicious restaurant. I genuinely believe that all the food here is cooked with pure love, akin to prasad offered at ISKCON temples, and the Hare Krishna chantings create a divine, unforgettable experience.

Govinda’s Pure Vegetarian Restaurant it’s one of best gems of Soho. The vegetarian food is one of the best I’ve had. It’s tasty, nutritious, healthy and fills you up. The prices here are very reasonable. The Veggie option gives you 5 items for £6.95 which includes rice, bean pot or lentil soup, veg curry, bread roll or popadom, green salat. The Paneer gives you 5 items for £7.95. This menu is more cheese focused. I had The unlimited menu that gives you 8 items for £9.95 and mango lassi separately. In this meal I had rice, bean pot, lentil soup, 2 veg curries, bread , popadom and green salad. With The Unlimited option, you are able to get seconds once you finished your serving and still hungry. The Unlimited menu was so tasty, I went for seconds. There’s also the larger option called The Govinda’s which cost £13.95, has 12 items, one of them is a sweet item. The staff is very friendly, and professional, and serve the food with a nice smile. Depending the hours, it can be quiet or quit busy. When it gets busy, it’s alive and full of energy, people meeting for a nice meal. This restaurant I great to meet up with friends for a meal, or for a romantic date. Interesting fact, next door is a Hare Krishna temple

Went to this place as read some good reviews and watched some videos on YouTube and must say was disappointed The place was busy as we went for the lunch time so expected it to be busy The service was really bad and I was disappointed by this, I know it was busy the person on the till wanted me to make a donation and I was not too keen I had the deluxe thali and the puri had all the oil from the fryer and when I asked can I have a different one she was not too keen The veg samosa tasted nice The curry with thali was a con, they were overloaded with veg and sag aloo had broccoli and cauliflower making it rubbish but it is also makes it look big So very disappointing to experience and there is a lot of pressure to buy stuff or donate and I don’t like that As a vegetarian the place did smell like I was in India but it didn’t taste as good If you do go, go for the basic thali as that is worth the money if you go for anything then go for the first one of the thali which costs 7.99 and is most possibly the best option So a no from me, like the temple and the ambience but the food is not just that good and the service can be better

Every time I go to Oxford Street I like to eat at this restaurant, today I went for the veggie menu, a samosa and a rose milk. The food here is always very fresh, it’s a mixture of a lot of nice flavours very well combined. It feels like homemade food. Everything tasted really nice, but the samosa was incredibly good, it was so crispy with a little hint of cinnamon that makes it perfect. The rose milk it was also so good that I can’t wait to go there again! The music is very relaxing, however this restaurant is so busy that the queue never ends, but It moves very fast anyway. The only thing not so nice (totally my fault) is that the table near the counter which I choose to seat at, is not the best place to seat as there was constantly people queuing behind me and touching my chair which made this experience not 100% pleasant. The food here is very affordable, good value for money. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

It's okay. A little rushed inside as the queue builds up. Felt a little rushed selecting what I wanted and couldn't hear the lady behind the counter clearly, plus the menu on the back wall is in a small text font. The food is good, tastes home made. Although it's not the same tasting food as the Watford Temple food. Also wasn't too keen on the whole take a tray and queue up to get your thali and sit where you want. There's not really a proper table service and you have to queue back up if you want something more. Also there were too many people outside the restaurant asking forcefully for donations. There is a small Temple upstairs, I'm sure people will generously give donation during their prayers. The Temple was incredibly busy, hot and congested. Almost tripped over someone's foot. They need a one way system in place to speed it up and avoid any accidents.

This is not a usual restaurant where you describe service or menu. This is a temple where you get offering/ prasad/prasadam. The service here is part of seva or devotion that is offered without any expectation in return. As expected, the food is mild but very testy. The place is run by devotees and is very clean. It is very busy and the volunteers work hard and help every visitor. One can not put a price on this sacred food but a seat down meal costs less than some of the ubiquitous food outlet one dish meal. As such, food must never be wasted and it is even more important when you are luck enough to part take sattavik food. My polite suggestion to Govinda’s team is to perhaps make the portions of vegetables and salads smaller. The quantity is challenging🙏🏻
