I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gurkhas’s Inn, a cozy restaurant that specializes in authentic Nepalese and Indian cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere that made me feel instantly at home. The dĂ©cor is simple yet charming, reflecting the cultural heritage of the region.

Food: The menu at Gurkhas’s Inn offers a variety of traditional Nepalese and Indian dishes. I started with the Momo, Nepalese dumplings that were perfectly steamed and packed with flavorful fillings. The dipping sauce, a tomato-based chutney, added a delightful kick.

For the main course, I opted for the Lamb Rogan Josh, which was tender, aromatic, and rich with a blend of spices. The lamb was cooked to perfection, and the curry had just the right balance of heat and flavor. I paired it with garlic naan and basmati rice, both of which complemented the dish perfectly. My dining partner tried the Chicken Tikka Masala, and it did not disappoint—creamy, flavorful, and just the right level of spice.

Service: The service was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations based on our preferences. They were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our water glasses were always full and checking in on us at appropriate intervals.

Ambiance: The ambiance is intimate and relaxed, ideal for both casual dinners and special occasions. Soft lighting and traditional Nepalese art create a serene environment. The restaurant isn’t too large, which adds to the cozy feel, but it also means that reservations might be necessary during busy hours.

Price: Considering the quality of the food and the generous portion sizes, the prices at Gurkhas’s Inn are very reasonable. It’s an excellent value for anyone looking to enjoy an authentic Nepalese and Indian dining experience without breaking the bank.

Overall: Gurkhas’s Inn is a hidden gem that excels in both food and service. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or eager to try Nepalese dishes, this place offers something for everyone. I highly recommend it for anyone in search of a delicious and authentic meal in a...

Was thinking about something like this all day as I'd had a long day at work.

Did a little Google and saw this place and new that it was the right one for me.

Living in Sydenham my local restaurant is called Gurkhas and this one in Greenwich is also a Gurkhas restaurant.

The menu is very inclusive for veggies and meat eaters alike.

Being a pescatarian I chose aloo gobi and mushroom rice and a cobra beer to wash it down.

I chose a take away as I was staying close by and walked back hoping my food tasted good....... well I certainly wasn't disappointed.

The food was hot and smelled fantastic and I was looking forward to tasting it and am pleased to say it's just as good if not better than my local ghurkas (hopefully they don't see this lol)

I'm here for a while so this could very easily become my local.

If you like a nice hot tasty curry then this place is definitely worth a visit.

The staff from what I saw whilst I waited for my takeaway were very friendly and attentive to those in...

A nice local Indian place with friendly service and good food.

The lamb momos were truly delicious, served with a lovely sauce. The dal makhani had excellent flavour, creamy and rich, even though I personally prefer it without kidney beans. The aubergine and potato dish was a really good choice too - delicately spiced and bright.

The paneer butter masala was a real surprise - full of coconut and very sweet, not what I expected at all. It was nice but too sweet for me, especially with the peshwari naan, which was a bit dry and hard, so would recommend going with the rice. Couldn’t really tell the difference between pilau and regular rice, so would just go with the standard rice.

It’s excellent value, and staff thankfully seem to be conscious of Covid protocols. Restaurant is lively with people but not crazy busy on a Saturday night. Would recommend to anyone looking for good Indian food...

Overall a solid 4.25/5 Ambiance and location : decent air conditioned well lit place , 20 mins walk from cutty sark dlr or you can take bus as well. Service: great service, prompt and provided good suggestions, well behaved staff. Food : ordered veg momos (4.5/5) , spicy paneer fry dry(3.5/5) , asked them to prepare paneer naga ( instead of veg naga) (4/5). Stuffed paratha (4/5) Quantity is decent, taste is good specially if you want hot and spicy food. Papadoms with chutney: the chutnies were really good , especially the mango one with cucumber salad. Must visit if you want authentic cuisine with great service. Only negative point is that washrooms are located on the second floor.

To start with the chutney tray had obviously just come off another table as it had obviously been used.... The onion bahjis were overdone, coconut rice tasted bland and reheated, the chicken in korma was dry even with the sauce. The chicken tikka was also dry we asked for a curry sauce to help, this came brown water... So disappointed, I had one mouthful from my main and rice and couldn't eat anymore! Was told that nothing can be done as the manager had left. Definitely won't be returning here and personally wouldn't recommend eating here if you have taste buds and enjoy good food. The food looks better in photos than on the table
