I’m a big fan of poke and have tried it at various places, so when I saw Honi Poke open nearby, I was really excited. I had previously tried their branch inside Selfridges, and it was really good. Very fresh. I visited the Baker Street branch on a Saturday morning to grab a poke bowl with my choice of toppings and proteins to go. I selected my favourite protein for Poke, which is tuna (which I also had in the Selfridges branch). The service was fast, the place was clean and inviting, with plenty of screens to order from and seating available. However when I received my order and saw the tuna I was bracing for disappointment. When I got home and tasted the tuna, I was immediately let down. It had no taste, but an off-putting flavor that reminded me of old, frozen fish. It wasn’t just bland—it had a distinct “fridge” taste, like it had been sitting around for too long. The texture was off as well, mushy in places, and the color was a dull, unappetising brown. Even more disappointing was the smell, which wasn’t fresh at all. And if you look closely at the pictures some of them even had the skin still!!! I know yellowfin tuna can vary in shades of red all the way to brown, but the tuna I received was just so unappetising to look at and even worse at the taste. It tasted almost spoiled, and I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. In fact I had to remove it from the bowl to at least eat the rice and the toppings. Honi Poke - your bowls live and die on the freshness of your raw proteins. Be very wary of this! The risk of food poisoning with non-fresh raw fish is very high!

I took a Friday dinner takeaway yesterday and I have to say that it was an amazing experience. The restaurant itself is lovely, located between Baker Street station and Oxford Street, it’s easy to commute after your central London commitments. Ordering at the kiosk it’s quick and easy, and the staff is always welcoming and helpful. I had two tuna Ahi Poke, Wacamole with tortilla chips and chocolate Mochis. The bowls with sesame soy dressing were fresh and delicious, and the side crackers crunchy and spicy, Mochis are on another level, smooth and refreshing. Must try!! 🌺🥙🏙️

I had such a lovely experience at Honi Poké! 🧡 The California Bowl was absolutely delicious! super fresh ingredients, perfect balance of flavors, and beautifully presented. I also tried the Salmon Tartare as a side and wow… it was a burst of freshness and texture in every bite! 😍🐟✨ The vibe of the place is relaxed and colorful it instantly made me feel good! It’s the kind of meal that makes you happy and light at the same time. 🥑🍚 I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend it if you’re looking for something tasty, fresh and healthy in London 💛
