This hotel has exceeded my expectations beyond imagination. Upon arrival I was greeted by the doorman, he kindly advised me that all guests require the temperatures to be taken due to Covid precautions. At the door there is a stand holding up the thermometer which guests are required to stand in front in order to measure their temperatures as well as the hand sanitising facility upon entry which are great features in order to protect staff and guests.
Check-in was very straightforward, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming and the duty manager Sarin was very accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Ankur the General Manager handled my booking with absolute care and detail and really provided me with exceptional customer service alongside Sarin. You both exceeded my expectation and I am grateful for your level of professionalism and customer care.
The lobby is beautifully decorated and well kept with an astonishing floral display and a glistening chandelier to compliment the 5* feel to the hotel.
I was based in the Quebec Suite on the 3rd floor which was absolutely breathtaking. The bed was the nicest feature of the room with a Rolls-Royce style star light at the top of the bed as you lay down. The bed was very comfy and extremely luxurious. The bathroom had a beautiful window feature that looks into the room from the bathtub which can be switched on and off for privacy, the toilet had a Japanese style feature with multiple functions.
The suite also featured a lounge in an adjoining room with a TV, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar and additional bathroom/shower room done you to a very high spec. Both bathrooms were fully equipped with Elemis toiletries (only the finest). Bathrobes and slippers included.
Views from the suite were very green and refreshing (street view but lots of trees). The suite was very clean, well-kept, and well presented. Complimentary bottle of water was given in the suite.
As we popped out for dinner, all of the staff were extremely friendly greeting us as we went out and as we came back in and wishing us a good night which was lovely. The restaurant on site (Hankie’s) is absolutely delicious and highly recommended! They have an Indian and a European menu however they are best known for their Indian Tapas dishes. The food is absolutely exquisite and shouldn’t be missed.
The location of the hotel is absolutely amazing and falls by Marble Arch, everything is within walking distance so many shops, bars and restaurants around locally. The hotel also offers a car service if transport is required for guests.
Overall, I was extremely impressed by this hotel, by the customer service, by the incredible management team, by the food, by the location, by the cleanliness and by my overall experience. I will definitely be booking here again in the near future. Thank you...
Read moreWhen I saw all good review I booked this hotel (500£/night).
When i arrived i was shocked, first of all the very bad and strong smell of Pakistan or Indian spices , in all corridors and rooms but so strong that I wasn't able to stay.
I ask to cancel my booking.
They change me from 5th to 2nd floor. Smell was but less stronger, but again not pleasant at all, I should stay only 2 nights with a lot of outside meetings, so decide ro not loose time to look after an other hotel.
When I ceck in , I ask if you have a nespresso machine , they told me yes in 80% of the room , and I don't have they will bring me (just to precise that I book the club executive room) they didn't bring it, I came back at 9pm , the reception told me they will bring, didn't bring, I call back at 10:30 they told me they don't have housekeeping service now, tomorrow before 7 am I will have it ... in 2 words I ask 10 time, it never arrived ...
By the way no water and no sleepers (they bring it later).
I am not complicated, but when you choose a 5* at this price you except much more that the actual services, the price it's not justify at all !
I was regular to book Intercontinental Park lane everytime in london, this time I look to be closer to marble arch, it was a mistake, I will definitely never book again this hotel, for me it's not more that 3* level, with very very small rooms, even the executive club.
Just to precise that the staff are very welcome , the Concierge was amazing person, and some of the reception staff was also nice ...
The only thing, why I am writing this review , it's because at the reception before you leave they ask you to give them 5* and even to take your phone and to write for you the review , before that I had no intention to write nice or bad review, I travel every week all over the world for my business , I am regulars with hotels 5* every week ,I never write nothing on any hotel, but this time they ask me if the stay was good I say "yes", just because I didn't want to offend them ... but after they try to take my phone to review them self 5* , I told my self I have to alert the new guest you are not coming in a palace !! By the same time I meet a couple of friends from Paris that was canceling theire booking after they saw differents rooms and they told me we dont understand how they have so nice reviews if the hotel is like that... they moove to an other hotel, they loose all the day, so I decide to write this review for all the next guest, you will have a lot of better hotels for the same budget in the same area.
Sorry Montcalm team to tell the true to...
Read moreSpa Review (not hotel):I was planning on enjoying a lovely belated spa experience with my aunt but ended up leaving bruised and in pain. I slipped and fell whilst coming down the steps from the pool area, I had slippers on and a hand on the rail, the stairs were extremely wet and so I fell. My lower back hit the edge of the stairs, my hand slammed down onto the stairs hurting my wrist, my ankle hit something on the way down and bled a little and my knee is still having issues after the fall. This was at the very start of our time in the spa area before we were supposed to have our massages so at this point I had not used the pool, sauna etc. and sat down with my aunt assessing my injuries. The staff spotted this on CCTV and came in to help and also swiftly mopped up the stairs, in hindsight it probably doesn't make sense to have a slippery tile leading up to a pool area. I tried to sit in the sauna for a bit but a few minutes later we were rushed in to have our massages because they couldn't move the time, not even having considered my fall at all. We went in to have the massages and I was in pain throughout the whole thing, the massage therapist tried to make it more comfortable but I had to keep telling her to stop because it was hurting. Obviously neither myself or my aunt enjoyed that day, after leaving no-one reached out to check if i was ok. I emailed stating the above and in response they offered me a few back rubs to compensate. Not sure how that would make up for the awful experience both myself and my aunt had, I went back to them stating that a few back rubs isn't equivalent to the actual spa experience that was paid for and the awful experience I had due to their own negligence. There was no safety sign on the stairs, the stairs were soaking wet and this was entirely the spas fault. My aunt and I did not get to experience the full spa package she paid for and at this point I would even be terrified to return. I had to take time off work and I documented my injuries and bruises that literally kept me up at night. My back was green for two weeks. Considering this is marketed as a luxury hotel/spa, the experience and the minimal response I've received has been awful. I wasn't planning on leaving a review but since I sent the last e-mail on March 6th stating that a few back rubs is almost insulting considering the injuries I sustained, I have not received a response. Please be careful as this could have been much worse. My knee still hurts today, I did not get to fully enjoy the facilities...
