Nice food but we were not treated well at all........stuck up manager!!!

I booked the Sushi afternoon tea for 3 of us as a mini hen do for my friend. I called up after I booked the table and asked them if we could come and decorate the table and put up a few balloons - I explained it was for a tasteful hen do. I was told this would be OK. When we arrived on the day, the manager was not happy about the decorations and the balloons and said that it "not in keeping with the brand image" and I should take them down. I responded by saying that I specifically asked if I could put balloons/decorations up when I called. He reluctantly agreed to let us keep them but you could tell he wasnt happy.

We sat down for our meal and were told we only had the table for an hour because of another booking. I was surprised by this and had I known when I called to make the booking I would have probably gone elsewhere. I didnt want to feel rushed as it was meant to be a leisurely afternoon tea! They offered to put us in the bar area after our time at the table was up, which was better than nothing I guess.

The food itself was good, though I think there wasnt a lot of Sushi - we would have preferred more sushi than cakes/dessert.

When our time at the table was up we were shown to the bar area - to a table which was reserved for us - and almost as soon as we sat down we were told to move and they put us in the furthest area of the entire bar- right at the back and away from view!!! It was comical how they literally couldn't wait to get rid of us and out of sight....

I have to stress, we had 6 TASTEFUL small white "team bride" balloons, there were 3 of us, hardly a rowdy crowd which would have caused embarrassment or lowered the tone but the staff acting as if we were the exact opposite. Needless to say it was somewhat offensive to us!!

I wouldn't go back because of this experience.....the manager is stuck up to...

Two words: Poor Service. As soon as we arrive in our table, no one even offered a menu so I had to ask one. Staff continued to neglect us throughout so we had to ask everything instead from picking up our orders to the drinks that we wanted, and they didn't even bother to ask when we want our desserts to be served. The staff were unexperienced and extremely unaccommodating. Also, they just took out some of our plates without asking us and we were not even finished with it.

I'm a foodie and I've been to different restaurants from low-ends to high-ends but I have never seen such a disrespectful and awful service in my entire life. Truly horrific and would not recommend however I have to say that the cuisines served were delicious (kudos to the chef) but the customer service was just horrendous and is definitely a factor they should consider...

It was a late Sunday evening and most places were closed and this was near and open and seemed to have great reviews.

Upon arrival I noticed this was a hotel restaurant and that was a warning sign. Generally, I avoid them. Sadly this was overpriced and not good quality.

The sushi rolls, all you could taste were the sauce, the wasabi was very cheap and no kick. The giner far too sweet.

As for dessert, it tasted very artificial and cheap.

Service was good, but food quality definitely did not match the price. I understand, this is a hotel restaurant (so most of their customers would be guests of the hotel and the restaurant is within the same vicinity), not something you'd go in as a local or if you'd like to...
