Well, I must to say that I was extremely disappointed of my experience this time around on this chain. Always I had been a fan of All bar one since I first discovered it back 1999 or 2000 when I was visiting Bath and since then however I was up or down the country I will pop into it but this last experience was not good at all. Firstly, you walked in and no one comes to greeting you ( talking lunchtime period) but that one I don't mind that much as I can find myself a table like I did. Now to order you got 2 choices: you get yourself to the bar and do it by yourself which I did as I prefer to interact with another human or you do it by an app in your phone. We are losing our values even in the hospitality sector. Back to ordering drinks, I ordered two sof drinks and a double espresso macchiato and there I was shocked by the condition the coffee machine was , firstly she did the double espresso in a single espresso cup and the milk obviously it wasn't really space for it so nearly out of milk but the steamer where she did the milk it was absolutely disgusting as who knows the last time it was cleaned, each time you use your Steam, you have to cleaned it. So don't bother to ask for coffee there as they don't care about quantity or quality of the coffee ☕ Later on we ordered the food: starters and main course. I must say that I didn't took long for it but the look of them were awful and also they brought started and main course together... Where do you do that ⁉️‼️ the starters were 3 different ones: hummus, halloumi, and calamari which they weren't calamari at all. All the three of them the first two were ok to eaten and enjoyed them. Into the main course: 2 fish and chips with garden/mushing peas that looked like someone has vomited them, the fish was over fried and the chips were not even frying properly or oven cooked properly which ever system they used for it. Also we ordered the classic cheese burger with chips and I must say the burger was ok but again the chips were awful. Overall very disappointed ☹️ And quite expensive for the quality of the food you get or the drinks ( coffee) I think my romance with all bar one is done for good. And quite...
Read moreAn abysmal experience recently on a Saturday lunchtime.
Firstly, it's clear this venue is courting fake 5* reviews in return for freebies, don't be swayed by their rating.
After finally tracking down a menu and, being told to stand at different sections of the bar to order, Prakhar served us and was clearly struggling with trying to do too many things at the same time. I repeated my order and table number several times and still had to make numerous corrections as drinks were made.
He'd already started serving another customer before I even had my receipt and offered nothing from a customer service point of view.
This became even more evident as the wrong food was brought three times, each occasion with no napkins, cutlery or asking if we needed any sauces / condiments, etc. Staff seemed absolutely bewildered, there's clearly underlying issues impacting the processes in place at all stages.
~£5 post-mix large soft drinks are 75% ice, a nice little hustle.
The final problem was the basic focaccia with oil that came as some kind of chicken sandwich. When replaced the "focaccia" was like a dry crust of basic white bread cut into four, an absolute joke.
Even basics like the fish finger bun were badly made, overcooked, dry fish fingers with a sponge-like centre, nachos came as a miserly portion bereft of toppings and, £70+ down for lunch for 4 we all left disappointed.
All the staff seemed miserable, overwhelmed, undertrained and unable to deal with issues.
Even the music was bizarre, an alternating playlist of "banging dance" and generic Christmas stuff, just odd.
If I hadn't already paid I would have considered not doing so, it was that bad. If you're in the area I would seriously recommend avoiding this place.
They're apparently offering free drinks to customers in return for good reviews, hence the 5* ones from first time contributers that name specific staff members, a shady practice to boost their average rating.
Don't bother with your generic copy and paste lip service response All Bar One, you clearly don't mean...
Read moreMy parents and I came here on my dad's birthday in hopes of a lovely light bite to complete our busy day. Upon entry, there was no one to meet us or inform us of how things work. We had not dined at ABO before. We sat ourselves down and could see all the staff talking away to each other and it would have been a mode enjoyable experience to have had staff that were alert to customers and ready to help if needed. I had to get up to ask how to order and the waitress informed me to use the app/bar. This should have been made clearer upon entry rather than a sorry looking bookmark stuck on the tables telling us to order online. There was also two tables that came in after us and I saw them both struggling to gain a waitresses attention before going up to the bar to ask what to do. Upon receiving my food, I can honestly say I have never had a worse chicken quesadilla in my LIFE. Unfortunately I was so disappointed with my food. The tortilla was so burnt, unappetising and too crispy/hard to bite into. The chicken was bland and was not as piping hot as one would have hoped. It was about 9.90 for this sad looking and small meal.
I highly do not recommend dining here and will not be returning. Not dining related but another noticeable thing was how all the young waitresses had not tucked in their shirts or tied their hair properly back but the waiters had tucked in their shirts and had hair away from the face. I'm not sure why this left an impression but it would have been nice to have been served by those who take pride in themselves and their job. Really disappointing...
