What was previously a functional if uninspiring outlet has become an example of poor design led by technology rather than customer need. The new tills are over complicated and have a three-level system for unpacking your basket, weighing and registering your purchase, and then bagging your shopping. The basket level is so now low that you have to twist and bend to empty it onto the scales level. Itās a nightmare for anyone with a bad back or any mobility issues. Having managed to not pull your back lifting your shopping, the scales are temperamental (so no bananas for me yesterday) and then you have the mismatched loading level to the right which, thinking about it, may actually be the only useful part of this terrible setup. So all in all a terrible self-service system that requires assistance for almost each and every other customer and technology that is a manual handling nightmare. So. Not cheap. Not user friendly....

A good location close to the London Eye and South Bank, and not too far from Waterloo Station (though there are a couple of much smaller M&Ss in there too). The bakery selection is also larger than other M&S food halls, and there's a great florist stand. The aisles are wide and well stocked, and there are plenty of self-service checkouts (no staffed checkouts).
Ultimately, this is an awesome food shop that's perfect for workers looking for lunch or tourists needing snacks and sustenance for a day out, or people like me that have just come out of a stressful meeting and urgently need a tub of their double...

I informed a staff member that I wanted to exchange it, but my request was initially denied. I was told that customers should check the quality of the products themselves before purchasing.
