I have ambivalent thoughts about this place. I used TGTG to collect some food, was very happy about their sweets section, cake was excellent , same with pastry but the rest for just bland, tasteless and not fun to eat at all. I'd like to give them benefit of a doubt, since it looks like a nice place, service was good and quick, maybe it was that specific day when their products were like that.

Lovely cafe. Choose Il Molino over Pique next door and chose here as the ambience suited me better. The coffee was top top mark! The service was excellent and staff were very friendly. I was a little disappointed with the pastry. I tried the orange Polenta cake which was a little dry. However can’t fault anything other than that and will be returning

This is my new favourite local. I can see the staff know what they are doing and give alot of love/thought to their food, clean and simple. Been here alot recently and always friendly and welcoming. Real asset to the local community 😊 seems I didn't take long at work many photos tho...

Aggressive, arrogant, rip off false pricing, appalling customer service. Went in for a cup of tea and cake. Was told that we may as well have a pot as ‘it was the same price’. Then told to sit down and pay afterwards as this ‘...wasn’t Starbuck’s’. We’d have preferred to pay then as we’d already queued and would have to queue again to pay, but sat down as he seemed adamant. After finishing our tea (which was the wrong flavour - but we didn’t want to complain). I got up to pay (standing in the queue again). At this point I was charged £8.50 for two teas and a piece of cake. The menu on the wall clearly stated ‘£1.50’ for a cup of tea - (we had one teabag each). The cake was £3.50. When I pointed this out to the owner, he yelled at me that the pricing on the wall was ‘out of date!’ I paid anyway feeling ripped off and went back to my seat to pick up my things and leave. The guy then followed me to my seat and waved the price tag for the cake in my face, yelling that this was £3.50. When I said I it was the tea that he had over charged on, he first said that I’d had a pot (despite telling us it was the same price - which it should have been anyway as there was one teabag). He then dramatically ran to the front of the cafe and ripped the pricing board off of the wall, yelling ‘are you happy now?’ and ‘should I give you tea for free?!’ He then screeched at me that Starbuck charges the same and that Teapigs tea bags are £15 a box (I’d actually had Tetley). After we walked out, extremely embarrassed he walked out after us to intimidate. Even without the fact that we were clearly ripped off by false pricing, I have never in my life had such awful, aggressive, threatening behaviour directed towards me. I will never set foot in this place again and would not recommend to anyone, especially to women...

We've been going here once or twice a week since November to get take-away coffees/paninis. The food is great but the staff/service is really poor: We frequently have issues with our orders being incorrect (i.e. multiple customer's paninis going in the toaster, we getting someone else's, or ordering a latte and getting a black Americano). This is bit silly given we order the same thing every time and have been regulars for months now. The staff regularly refuse to stamp our loyalty card. They just smile and say they'll do it later. The staff are constantly changing. There is without fail a new person every time, so the coffee is very very hit and miss. Staff often aren't wearing masks - there was an instance where a staff member went out from behind the counter, hugged a friend outside the shop (whilst we were queuing out down the road!), came back in and resumed handling food without changing her plastic gloves/washing hands.

You want to support local cafes, and I love the Italian range here, but we're drawing a line and are taking our...

Covid restrictions appear to have hit Il Molino hard.

I visited the café on one of my first weeks moving to the area and haven't been back, nor would I recommend it.

The look and feel of the place is outstanding and you're immediately taken to somewhere in Europe. However, this is where the magic ends. The coffee has hints of greatness but for the most part is low quality and the service felt unenthusiastic. This is of no fault to the barista however; as it felt under-staffed and that is most likely a result of the pandemic.

Edit: It seems I gave them a benefit of the doubt by attributing their poor customer service to Covid-19. Clearly the customer is still their lowest priority as they tell me to F.O. If you see this review - just go elsewhere. There are plenty of other café's within a 5...
