Bliss Lounge- go for vibes but defo not food.

I recently visited Bliss Lounge after seeing it on Instagram, and reading rave reviews online. Firstly, the decor was lovely and they've done an excellent job bringing a bit of glam to the high street. Let me also add, the staff were exceptionally nice and helpful which probably deterred me from making my complaints in-store.

So let's get to the menu... the menu offering was great with a really nice selection of dishes. I was halfway already won over by the gorgeous food photography on their social media. Sadly however the food was not good at all and if they want to stay in business I think they urgently need to re-visit their cooking standards and the quality of ingredients used.

Here goes my honest and unbiased review

Boneless Wings: 4/10

Decent flavour, and tender meat but the batter tasted low quality possibly even mass produced not fresh.

Borek: 1/10

Usually one of my favourite dishes but this was horrendous. At one point I had to check it was actually food substance as the "pastry" actually looked like paper and was exceptionally chewey. It tasted like raw cannelloni, and there wasn't much of the cheese filling.

Fries: 9/10

Just a straight forward side. They were fresh, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Only feedback was they needed salt.

Dynamite Prawns: 3/10

The portion was small (4 prawns), though they were quite meaty so that made up for the portion size. However the flavour let them down massively, there was no bite/crunch to the batter (if there was any) and they were drowned in a very nondescript sauce which lacked flavour.

Mac n Cheese: 1/10

This dish was NOT mac n cheese! It was more of a penne Alfredo, in a simple heavy cream based sauce with sprinkles of some kind of cheese on top. The dish lacked flavour and was not what it was described as, so very dissapointing.

Rack of Lamb: 7/10

The lamb was really nicely cooked, tender and delicate simple flavour. The mash it came with was nondescript, the veggies were decent and so was the sauce. This dish was one of the better options on the menu that actually seems to be cooked with care.

Halloumi Fries: 6/10

Decent. A little heavier on the batter than I like, but it was a good portion and nicely flavoured.

Calamari: 2/10

Dull and flavourless, small-ish portion and didn't taste fresh.

Roasted Baby Potatoes: 6/10

Simple and nicely flavoured.

The only thing that saved this visit were the cocktails. The Pina Colada and Rum Punch were delicious. I can tell the bartender really put an effort into preparing the drinks and it showed. If this same effort was put into the food it would have been a totally different experience, but sadly dining here was abysmal.

So my conclusion, if you're local and you're looking for somewhere with nice vibes and cocktails sure try it. If you are looking for a quality dining experience you will be sorely dissapointed. I also reached out to the restaurant to share my concerns but sadly didn't hear anything back. I say all of this not to harm the business but to encourage them to make the necessary changes to...

They have rebranded because their previous venture was such a disaster but they have not learned the lessons of "customer service". Hi, I thought I would share some feedback with you and getting your views before I post a review on food review websites.

Visit date : 29/12/24 Time: 13:24 No of guests: 4 (2 adults, 2 children)

We visited your restaurant before you took over from the previous restaurant owners where the service and food was very poor. We went there once as a family but never went back there again due to poor service , over pricing and poor food quality.

On our visit today, I would feed back the following:

We ordered 4 halal Turkish breakfasts

Positives:

• Turkish sausage and turkey bacon enjoyable as were the hash browns and mushrooms

Negatives:

• Haloumi ordered as a starter. It came cold and we had to ask waiter for plates for us to share the haloumi. • Bread, salad and dips brought out before our breakfast. We ordered breakfast, not lunch, so why the salad and bread ? • The two adults were brought out their breakfast first and then the two children approx. 15 minutes later. When we asked where the childrens breakfasts were, the water told us “oh we thought we would bring two dishes out first so that they were hot”. You need to cook and time when you bring out dishes so that the group (family) can eat together rather than the adults almost finishing their food before the kids are served their dishes. • The menu clearly states toast included in the halal breakfast. We were served pitta bread !!, not toast. When we questioned the waiter, he said “oh I or the chef do not know what is on the menu” . If they do not know what is written on the menu, they should be trained so that what a customer gets is what he has ordered….or change your menu. • Fried eggs all popped. Chef could not be bothered to keep the fried eggs intact • WE ordered a side of beans with the adult breakfasts. They came with the breakfasts that were served to the children because the waiter said “the chef got all the beans together hot , so I brought yours out with the kids”. We , the adults had by this time almost finished our breakfasts. • My son at the beginning ordered an English breakfast tea. Waiter brought out a Turkish tea.

You really do need to up your game compared to our two other local Turkish Restaurants, Marina Café and Laziz Charcoal (both within walking distances from your “newly opened” restaurant) where you get high quality food and service and a perfect on time Breakfast (Marina Cafe). If you do not do so quickly, the same will happen to you as the previous restaurant that you have taken over/rebranded. Pictures for your ref. attached,...

My Experiences in this restaurant was fantastically delicious good food and the managers where very socially acceptable my visitors in their business the foods was not ready because I was dear too early so I had a Delicious breakfast with two nice eggs with hot pepper and Avocado 🥑 OMG it is the first time in my life I eat this.is my honest truth and a Delicious glass of mint tea with 🍯 and my day start off good so my recommendation.to visit this restaurant ,but I would like to say Please give them time to rebuild the restaurant in the way it supposed to just a few things left to put in place because as a lot of people in the community knowing that it wasn’t in use for a long time it did 🔥 so they just re opened yesterday the inspection management where here so I see a lovely clean place but you can trust me they are ready,to Deliver the good food nice tasty food a gained the toilets is clean so I 🪸🪸wished them all the best and this is a NOTHER 🪸🪸🪸 they🧑‍🍳 do lovely Caribbean spices dishes blessings so Congratulations to the Community people I love you all for keeping the street clean one more thing to say the manager explain they are getting a ramp that wheelchair can go in side but for now sorry it willingly to welcome everyone please show your support Amen my REVIEWS Is a goodwill one Gods grace and the 23 psalm always.
