After reading a few glowing reviews, we knew we had to check out It’s All Greek to Me — tucked away on Praed Street, near the Hilton London Metropole. When we arrived, we were a little surprised by how small the place was, but don’t let the size fool you — what it lacks in space, it more than makes up for in flavor, warmth, and service.
Right at the entrance, we were greeted by the mouthwatering sight of freshly made dishes lined up beautifully behind the glass. It instantly made our stomachs growl. Before we even ordered, we were offered a free round Greek donut with chocolate sauce — crispy, warm, and absolutely delicious. A small gesture that immediately made us feel welcome.
Sofia, the lovely young woman at the front, was the heart of the experience. So polite, kind, and incredibly attentive — especially to our kids, who she made feel just as special as the adults. That kind of genuine hospitality really stands out.
The food? Absolutely delicious. The tzatziki sauce was a standout — creamy, garlicky, and so good it made you want to lick your fingers clean. Even the kids couldn’t get enough. Every bite felt like a trip to Greece, made with love and real ingredients.
To top things off, they surprised us again at the end with some free desserts, which the kids practically inhaled.
Don’t underestimate this place because it’s small. Between the incredible food, the welcoming atmosphere, and amazing staff like Sofia, this little spot is well worth a visit. Prices are fair, portions are great, and if you're not up for dining in, they also do takeaway — perfect for a cozy night in at your hotel or at home.
Honestly? We’ll be back. No...
Read moreI think I just ordered the wrong things and came at the wrong time. I asked if the dolmathes were home made. She didn't hear me I think, so I rephrased 'are they good?' ' yes they're good'. Ordered gigantes and a single pork souvalaki too..the pork souvalaki had a texture that was definitely been sitting around and reheated..similar to a reconstituted one. It was hideous. The dolmathes were OK but tinned. The gigantes were not only tinned but also stone cold. The waitress Sofia (i think her name was) was lovely. When she asked if everything was ok I told her was stone cold. She said she could get it reheated or offer something else. They should have been heated she said. I didn't really want some microwaved tinned gigantes anyway.. and was in a rush. I left the beans as they turned my stomach. I asked if the dish could be refunded. She said she couldn't do that..I didn't mention that the souvalaki was also horrid. She said she could give me something free instead. I already mentioned I was going to buy a mini bottle of wine. So I took that. However it didn't make up for the fact the whole meal turned my stomach. And I was still hungry upon leaving. Shame as the reviews looked good.

Read moreHad to get a quick lunch and a friend I was with asked if I liked Greek cause he knew a place. Oh.. yea! So we meandered down the road and though it was lunch time.. not as crowded as he had remembered in the past. The girl up front was younger and a little distracted, but we got our order in and then moved to the "Dining room" Yes.. I put it quotes... cause... not much room in there. Very snug. Table was still wet from the wipe down.. but least it was clean and the chairs.. better than sitting on the floor.
Now don't get me wrong.. it was a great experience cause it was unique and quaint, but if it was more than just two of us... it would of been tight.
The food came after a 15 min wait. Delicious! The meal was just as I remembered it when I traveled Europe back in the day and the fries crispy and seasoned. Plenty of food for the price I paid. Actually way more than I expected. Groovy! Gobbled it down and wished I had time for more, but the grind was calling. The food... I knew I'd be fighting a food coma the rest of the day. It was that good!
So when I'm asked next time I'm in London, if I like Greek food...? I'll let them know... I...
