Edit review: Even though this place is around the corner from me, I won't come back. They claim their bagels are baked fresh every day, well, if what I had was fresh, the recipe and quality is just wrong. I had supermarket bagels that had been in a bag opened for days that were way softer than these bagels. They were hard to chew, I had tooth and jaw ache after eating them. I always try to be as nice as possible when leaving reviews and I always try to give good ratings and I was thinking about coming back and give it another try. But after poiting out the quality of the bagels, the response I got feels like they are just laughing at the customer's face. I have checked their responses to another negative reviews and instead of taking the feedback and worrying about the quality and checking if something went wrong that day or the customer's experience and satisfaction, they reply in a cocky way and making fun of everyone. Really rude. Not interested in ever coming back. My original review below.

Been wanting to try this place for long but the queue is always massive. We passed by on a Sunday before lunch and there was barely any queue so we decided to give it a go. We ordered two bacon egg and cheese and one peanut butter and jelly, one with the sesame bagel and the other with the plain one. So, the fillings were great, really good amount, I was feeling full after eating, the bacon was super crispy! But my 3 star review is because of two things: The price. I think they are really expensive for what they are. And the bagels itself. They were a bit dry and a bit hard to chew. They weren't fresh from the day for sure. A bit disappoiting when it's a bagel place and specially when you charge that much you can't give bagels with this quality, it's unacceptable. With a good and fresh bagel, food...

I’ve been twice now to get breakfast to take back to my flat to share with visitors and both times the order has been wrong. The first time, I ordered 2 everything bagels with scallion cream cheese, 1 sesame egg and cheese and 1 sesame bacon egg and cheese. Opening it up when I got home, we got 2 plain with plain cream cheese, and 2 sesame bacon egg and cheese. Overall it worked out as the bacon costs more than the step down in price for plain instead of flavoured cream cheese, but we ordered the egg and cheese for a vegetarian and they couldn’t eat what they ordered. It also took a LONG time to get the cooked bagels.

A month later and I decided to get breakfast from there again, this time, 2 everything bacon egg and cheese. Simple order, 2 identical items. But it was wrong again. One was missing bacon. At £4 for bacon, it’s over 40% of the cost of the item. It again took a long time despite there not being a queue (walked in this time without waiting) so I don’t see a reason why they can’t a) make the order correctly, or b) have some sort of check to make sure before it is bagged.

I guess they could say it’s my fault for not checking before I left, but everything comes wrapped up and I shouldn’t need to unwrap and check each item in case it is wrong. I wouldn’t have written a bad review for 1 bad experience but wrong items 2 in a row is a trend. The owners responses to bad reviews and issues is also a red flag. It’s a tasty bagel, but I shouldn’t have to wonder whether the order will be...

Queued for an hour, then told by staff they’re not taking any more orders because staff too tired. This is an hour before closing time and only about 12 people left in the queue. Incredible. Was only allowed to buy some packaged cream cheese, salmon packaged in plastic and caraway seed or raisin bagels (only remaining flavours) but they wouldn’t even slice the bagels.

The staff are mostly kids who are talking, complaining and running around a lot but incredibly slow at doing anything. There were about seven staff in there but bagels trickling out one by one, and workstations a mess. They really need to sort out their system and have some experienced managers — it’s just a mess.

The bagels themselves were not bad. They had sold out of all of the good flavours but the ones I had were above average for London standards, although not the best in London and mediocre by NYC standards. They are also unusually small.

The cream cheese was disappointing. A very average product and nothing like the amazing cream cheese in the best places.

Salmon again, very standard product out of a packet. Can’t even begin to compare it to somewhere like Russ & Daughters and actually no better than a supermarket.

Overall if there were no queue I would come here if passing by occasionally but absolutely not worth queuing for 10 minutes, let alone an hour (and apparently 1 hour+ is...

I recently had the pleasure of trying the offerings at "It's Bagels," a London-based bagel shop located in Primrose Hill and run by New Yorkers. The experience left me with mixed feelings, but overall, it was a good one. Having tried Papo's Bagels in East London last weekend, I found their bagels to be less dense compared to "It's Bagels.” But its bagels definitely had their own flavour and taste. I sampled their sun-dried tomato schmear, which was not as tomato-forward as I expected. In fact, my only gripe was that I wished it had a touch more sweetness. On the bright side, their "The Works" bagel was a standout, a delightful explosion of flavours from the lox to the capers; it had a very nice balance of flavours. In the grander scheme, it's heartening to see New Yorkers bringing their bagel expertise to London. Although we already have our local bagel traditions, "It's Bagels" offers a unique twist. It's more than just a shop; it's an experience. In summary, while it may not have completely lived up to the hype, I'm happy with my overall experience at "It's Bagels" in Primrose Hill. The quality is pretty good, and it's a welcome addition to London's diverse food scene.

Like many of the Americans who have flocked here in the past few weeks, I agree that It’s Bagels is (so far) the closest I’ve had to an NYC bagel. The vibe is all there too from the insane queue and decor to the deli/cart style coffee cups. My take on is that the bagels themselves are quite good, as is the schmear (though limited selection). Where things don’t hit the mark are the other things inside. In the case of the BEC that would be the bacon, egg, and cheese where the textures are off. I also wish that they wouldn’t add ketchup to them as a default. Perhaps it’s due to different ingredients or interpreting for London tastes, but everything was a bit too mushy/gooey. The pricing on the lox sandwich is crazy to me. £3 more if you want to add onion, capers and tomatoes? £1 more if you want non plain cream cheese? The size of the bagel does not justify the price. What I ended up loving the most was actually the cold brew, which like NYC style bagels is hard to find in London! Strong brew and well priced. I will be back for the brew and the cream cheese but never again on a weekend!
