Italia Uno Caffee

Italia Uno Caffee is a family-owned, home-cooked, and affordable restaurant that aims to provide a taste of Italian cuisine. While the prices may be budget-friendly, it is important to note that the restaurant falls short in terms of hygiene standards.

One of the positive aspects of Italia Uno Caffee is its homely atmosphere. As a family-owned establishment, it exudes a warm and welcoming vibe, making you feel like you're dining at someone's home. The staff members are friendly and strive to create a cozy environment for their guests.

However, the restaurant's hygiene standards leave much to be desired. Cleanliness and food safety are crucial aspects of any dining establishment, and unfortunately, Italia Uno Caffee falls short in this regard. The restaurant may not prioritize proper sanitation practices, which can have a negative impact on the overall dining experience.

Additionally, while the food at Italia Uno Caffee is home-cooked, it may not meet the expectations of those seeking authentic Italian cuisine. Taste is subjective, but some visitors may find the flavors to be lacking in depth or authenticity compared to more traditional Italian restaurants. The quality of ingredients and culinary techniques used may not be on par with higher-end Italian establishments.

It's important to consider the trade-off between affordability and hygiene when choosing a restaurant. While Italia Uno Caffee may offer inexpensive options, compromising on cleanliness and food safety can have potential health risks.

In summary, Italia Uno Caffee is a family-owned, budget-friendly restaurant that aims to provide a taste of Italian cuisine. However, it falls short in terms of hygiene standards, which can be a significant concern for many diners. If you prioritize cleanliness and food safety, it may be best to explore other options for a more satisfying and reliable...

This review is primarily based on the sandwiches made here and my overall experiences here over countless visits over the years.

This is not your fancy sandwich place, this is your Italian hole in the wall, fresh deli meat on bread kinda place with a cappuccino on the side kinda place. Whatever the Italian version of a greasy spoon is, this is it (but without the grease).

Family owned and run they make top tier sandwiches and lovely coffee at a price you shouldn't be able to get in central London (I'm surprised more students are coming here for their fill).

Some of the other stuff outside of the sandwiches can be a bit hit or miss, but for the price I don't think you're justified to complain.

My only fault would be sometimes, closer to the evening they run out of the nice soft bread they use and the alternative doesnt quite hit the same, but still this place is far far better than a lot of the other sandwich places nearby and it's open, somehow, pretty much all day.

Oh and the interior is just a real quirky mix of everything, with TVs playing 3 different Italian channels at any one time, almost always one with football. I find its nicest to sit outside, but often I'm just grabbing and...

My favourite local Italian when working down Fitzrovia area. Great for breakfast, lunchtime and dinner with a selection of Italian breakfasts both vegetarian and meat options including scrambled eggs with mozzarella and then a choice of Italian cured meats or vegetarian antipasti. Lunch has great Italian sandwiches where the cured meats are carved fresh for every sandwich, no premade! The Picanti is great as is the traditional Parma Ham. The salads are also great too as is the pasta. In a world were Fitzrovia has been taken over by chain restaurants and 'hip' bistros it's nice to see this local Family run, traditional Italian cafe still doing well! I have been coming here for 11 years and see the same faces who always say hello so trust me! And if you want a good expresso or cappuccino... forget the new hipster coffee shops opening up, come for a proper...

In a world of chain cookie cutter cafes with freezing cold sandwiches (pret anyone?) it’s nice to go somewhere where the bread is warm and the food tastes of a home kitchen rather than a uniform corporate recipe. Albeit a tasty Italian home kitchen - mozzarella, good bread, real ham sliced in front of you, aubergine, artichokes…your sandwich made how you want it with exactly what you want in it - made slowly and properly …with the bread properly seasoned with salt, pepper, lemon. It’s not shiny or corporate which makes it all the more special. And it’s cheaper than pret, which is a miracle.
