itsu - Islington Angel Central — Restaurant in London

I brought a couple of dishes from this store only to find out when I got home that one of the dishes was open, the seal had already been broken & was therefore NOT safe to eat. Due to health issue's I wasn't able to return to the store, instead sending an email to customer services regarding the issue. I got no response but managed to return to the store the next day for an exchange.

When I produced the dish and my receipt to a male server at the food counter, he immediately gave me a dirty look, treated me like dirt, questioned and interrogated me, accused me of ripping the seal myself, then walked off without saying anything! I watched as he went over to a woman sitting at one of the tables. They both proceeded to stare at me in a cold manner, talking about me for a long time while I stood there waiting for them. The woman took her time to get up, slowly walked over to me while continuously staring at me. Told me she was a 'deputy', said she had read my email (but did not respond) and also accused me of ripping the seal myself! She talked to me as if I was lying and trying to pull a big scam......over a dish that costs £5.29! I am totally confused as to what type of scam she thinks I'm trying to pull here.

It was obvious that I had not consumed the dish. I told her I just want to exchange it for a new one, she agreed and I left feeling upset and angry at the way I had been treated. I don't know why it was so hard and took so long to do a straightforward exchange. I shop 'regularly' at this store and have done so for many years since the store first opened. I spend a lot of money at this store every week. There's one small issue and I'm interrogated and treated like a criminal! I will not be buying from this store again, and do not recommend...

I recently visited Itsu, and I couldn’t be more impressed! The restaurant offers a delightful blend of traditional Japanese flavors with a modern twist. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, clean, and vibrant, with a sleek design that added to the experience.

The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented – the salmon sashimi practically melted in my mouth. I also appreciated their wide variety of healthy and vegetarian options, catering to all dietary preferences.

Almost no customer service. We could not find what we wanted (regular maki) on the shelves as it was almost empty on a Friday night around 7pm. They recently set up new automatic POS which we had to use. Apparently the products we paid for were not available. We would have appreciated to have the info before paying. In almost all restaurants in the world, when you order something on the machine, it means it's available or the employees will made it. Apparently Itsu doesn't really care about customer experience. When I made the remarks to the employees, they seem not to care at all and were reluctant to give my money back. Last time for me to go to Itsu on site. Paying extra for this is not worth the price....
