Kirin — Restaurant in London

Such a pleasure to experience the new set menu for Valentine’s celebration. The chef has done a fantastic job in designing this menu, great flavours, gorgeous presentation.

I love the fact that you get so much goodness over many courses, my comments in no particular order: The sweet & sour fish was heaven on earth; The shrimps were huge and delicious; The lamb chops were packed full of flavours; love the crispy duck salad; the asparagus was full of freshness; the rice is just beautiful check it out in my photos; the dessert, by the time I got to it I was so full from eating all the dishes lol. And l cannot forget the pumpkin soup served in the beginning, it was absolutely delightful so creamy and delicious.

I have always loved Kirin Chinese restaurant, one of the best imo. But this special menu just elevated the game again, I think it will be on for sometime recommend you go try it while it’s there. And I cannot ignore the fact that this set menu is actually one of the best value for money considering the many courses of fantastic food that you get to enjoy. An Oasis in the City! A wonderful evening celebrating my Birthday with friends. Food was delicious and portions a fair size. The service and the people who work at Kirin are professional and so client centred. My husband and I were undecided how to manage everything as we were a large group. They made it so easy and straightforward. We were a little backwards and forwards with our decision making. They were just plain grounded and calm. The evening flowed.

We have eaten there previously as a couple and they are consistent with the food, care and service.

Both times we have visited at the weekends and I can highly recommend trying them as a weekend treat if you live out of London as access to tubes and trains is easy. We walked from Blackfriars’s. London Bridge is also equal distant and a good option. The food and drinks are very affordable and of excellent quality.

The decor and atmosphere are lovely. Additionally they have private rooms which look very cosy. We chose to sit at the large round table within the restaurant for our group. Privacy was maintained by a heavy curtain.

Booked this restaurant for a Lunar New Year dinner for my team. One of the worst experiences I’ve had in London - this is the only restaurant where I’ve opted for the service charge to be removed.

My booking was cancelled because, despite the fact that it was not stipulated on the booking form anywhere, I missed a few calls (I was travelling) from the restaurant to put down a deposit a only few days out from LNY as the manager was concerned about no-shows.

If the restaurant wanted a deposit, they should make this clear at the time of booking and I would have happily obliged. I booked well in advance because places get quite busy around LNY and it was frustrating to have the booking cancelled that late because the manager decided last minute that they wanted deposits from all customers.

I managed to get a seating in the end, albeit only 75 mins for 10 guests, which is inadequate. As for the food, it was very average - one of my colleagues got food poisoning that same night and the last dish didn’t come out until 10 mins before our allocated time was up. Don’t waste...
