In my 10 years in the city, I have never had such a bad experience with customer service. on my travels around the world, I have never been treated with the level of disrespect that I experienced at this poor establishment.

I'm not one to give bad reviews and I'm not easily antagonised. This special case requires special attention and I hope the relevant disciplinary actions take place.

I attempted to order my second drink and the bartender didnt like my request for a cold bottle of coke with my drink and proceeds to aggressively throw my drink into the sink. her colleagues stare with shock because of the unbelievable attitude displayed as she storms off. my comments following this incident were 'this is crazy'.

We go outside and come back in and I attempt to buy another drink from another member of staff. They take my order and walk to the other side of the bar to get my drink but to my amazement, she returns and says she has been told not to serve me drinks.

In an attempt to save her face Lucy (i think) told her colleague that I was too drunk to have further drinks. I ask for the manager and after 1 minute she apologises when she realises I'm completely sober. We ask the manager to confront the disgruntled employee so we can continue to enjoy our afternoon drinks with our boss.

In an attempt to get my third drink the bar staff ignore me at the bar for 10 minutes. after realising I'm not being served I confront the manager again and she proceeds to call me delusional. after waiting another 20 minutes without being served I leave the establishment.

This was an appalling show of service that was well below the service an animal at a zoo probably gets.

I asked for the names of the staff in question to avoid others being tarnished with the same brush but who knows if this is even correct - LUCY, MILLANIA, LAURA and THE...

In life, three certainties persist: the inevitability of mortality, the obligation of taxation, and the unwavering assurance of a delightful experience at the Loaf.

Much like a pair of wayfarer sunglasses, "Tongue n Cheek" by Dizzee Rascal, or the ever-enduring allure of cigarettes, the Sugar Loaf remains eternally in vogue.

This venue, a versatile cruiser suitable for any occasion, exudes the enchantment reminiscent of a cozy speakeasy, yet pulses with the vibrant energy of a bustling metropolitan tavern. At the Sugar Loaf, inclusivity reigns supreme, with three expansive screens catering to sports aficionados and two generously sized bars ensuring that waiting times remain inconsequential.

Conveniently accessible from Cannon Street, Bank, St Paul's, and the broader reaches of London's urban landscape, the Sugar Loaf offers a straightforward and hassle-free commute for denizens of the city.

Mackenzie behind the bar is a fantastic host and deserves a raise or promotion.

“With bread all sorrows are less” (Sancho Panza).

The Loaf, in its embrace, banishes all tribulations...

Great Comfort Pub Food at a Fair Price! 🍔🍻

We stumbled into The Sugar Loaf on a whim while wandering near Soho, and I’m so glad we did. It’s one of those places that feels instantly comfortable—low-key, authentic, and full of that classic London pub charm. The atmosphere was just right—not too loud, not too quiet—with a mix of locals and curious travelers. It didn’t feel touristy at all, which made it even better. We grabbed a table in the back, ordered a couple of pints, and settled in like we’d been going there for years. The staff were super friendly, and the service was relaxed but attentive. The menu had all the British pub staples, and everything we ordered came out hot and satisfying—simple, hearty, and exactly what we were craving after a day of exploring. It’s not flashy or overdone, and that’s what makes it so good. If you’re in London and looking for a proper pub that feels genuine and a little tucked away, this is the spot. We’ll definitely be back.

London city, central bar with Nicholson's qualities. So similar to the nearby Golden Fleece I had to double check. This corner townhouse style bar is civilised & dignified, with elegance. Modernised in a heritage sensitive manner. Professionally patterned ceiling paper dressed with modern naked chandeliers. The bar is divided in two with a distinct restaurant style to one half & pub to the other. A hard wood square bar sits central through both sides. There's a classic corner door with decoratively coloured, dimpled glazing complemented into a glazed, pillared entry divider. There's plenty of space with high stooled perimeter benched seating, with semi partitions to break the spaces. There's a good selection of draught beers for a city, male heavy crowd. Decorative pillars in a clean feeling space, this is a professional London pub with good outdoor space for street drinking.
