Well, where can we start, looked good outside lots of Chinese families and couples in there, menu looked different, so what could be wrong ?! Well let's start with the fact my wife and I are not Chinese, directed upstairs immediately, even though there were seats down stairs. Ok so nothing to out of the norm, we could see the prices were a little higher than we would expect at a Chinese dinning establishment but then this is London So first assumption was I would want beer and the waitress's almost took offence when I asked for Chinese tea in Chinese. We ordered two meats and a rice. When it came out well my local take away serves better at half the price. Still it was consumable but experience has told me unless it is really shocking don't complain. So we sat and ate some, normally I can't buy finish a plate and my wife's but today naaa. Was so salty I had to get a bottle of water when I got outside. Now to say I was shocked with the bill at £41 for a green tea, two chicken dishes and a rice and a bottle of multi pack coke was a shock but there was a discretionary service charge of £5 also. Now for a mediocre meal, which we were sat for 30mins max, I don't give Tips. We put the cash down and the waitress checked it, checked it again and said " it's not enough" look it's £46, I pointed out service charges are discretionary and she said no... I reafirmed the point and she said ok but next time you do not sit in you take way. My wife and I were still finishing our drinks and she proceeded to start cleaning the table and telling us we dont pay so have to go she wants the table for more guests. And tried to take my wife's drink. Well we drank up and left.
This pace may be able to get away with it with tourists who don't know but there also appears to be two prices having seen some of the other bills being settled whilst we were finishing our drinks. Now I should t but I will, I think the fact we were not of the community was a factor in the high bill, and in the take the P*SS attempt at a service charge. Clearly had the roles reversed I would have been called racist. Well that's clearly what this was, clear racism. There are many good places and people in and around China town and I have had many good meals with friend.. this was not one of them !! I would not recommend, not go back, not do any form of business with them.. save your money go else where, I know I will do in the future. Final review...
Read moreI can't believe I can find Chinese cuisine better than what I had back in Hong Kong!
This is a little branch of the Four Seasons Restaurant (just next door on 2 Gerrard St). I have yet to try out the big bro place but am looking forward to 😀
I came here after a work event with 2 colleagues, they both thanked me 100 times for taking them there for a nice Chinese meal, I am proud!
We had a barbecued combination plate, stir fried chicken pieces in black bean sauce, stir fried flat noodles with beef, and stir fried choi sum with garlic 😋
These are what I would get at a Chinese resto, Dai Pai Dong (outdoor food stalls), HK café or something in between in Hong Kong.
ALL OF THEM taste so good!
Chicken stir fry in Black Bean Sauce - the sauce is extractly what I have back home, I am surprised this place is doing it right!
Combination Plate - Barbecued Pork, Crispy Pork Belly, Roasted Duck
Stir fried Choi Sum with Garlic - I am surprised by the quality of the Choi Sum as well as the seasoning, not too greasy, not too salty, in-season quality choi sum, and what's more, it reminds me of the dishes I had when I went out for Chinese food in Hong Kong 😍😍😍
(last but not least) Stir Fried Flat Noodles with Beef - HK dish, super hard to do it just right, normally under seasoned, too greasy, lack of color - this one is PERFECT! It brought me back to the HK Café my mom's family used to run, it tastes the same !
Four Seasons are known for their roasted duck and I think they are really worth having. What I tried were all pretty HK / regional dishes in Guangdong Province. I saw dishes with Sichuan / Shanghai vibes but wasn't sure if worth a try (will consider it though, to venture a bit). Afterall they seem to be a Guangdong / HK style resto and they are doing the food right (at least in what I have eaten). I have tried a few small shops (delivery, well...) they are just not right.
I will definitely make this place my go-to place especially when I want to take locals out for a good Chinese meal. Will also take my family and friends who come all the way to visit me...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining inside Little Four Season for dinner with my partner and I must say, it was a pleasant experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a lovely warm male staff out in the front.
First and foremost, let's talk about the food. Each dish that graced our table was a masterpiece of flavor and freshness. From the savory delights of the chilli dumplings starter to the steak in black bean sauce. In addition the portions were generous.
What truly impressed me was the efficiency of the service. Our orders were taken promptly, and the food arrived at our table in record time all together. Despite the bustling nature of the restaurant, the staff managed to maintain a seamless flow, ensuring that each guest received the attention they deserved.
I must give a special mention to the male manager who oversaw our dining experience. His professionalism and warmth added an extra layer of hospitality to our meal, making us feel truly welcome. His attention to detail and willingness to accommodate our requests did not go unnoticed.
However, it is important to address a minor concern in an otherwise flawless experience. While the majority of the staff were pleasant and attentive, there was one female employee who exhibited a slightly rude demeanor towards both only my table but other customers too. While this did not detract significantly from our overall enjoyment, it is worth mentioning for the sake of transparency.
In terms of cleanliness, the restaurant maintained a high standard through this visit. The tables were promptly cleared, and the dining area was immaculately kept, further enhancing the dining experience.
Overall, my experience at little four season Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From the delectable cuisine to the efficient service, it was a culinary adventure that left a lasting impression. Despite the minor issue with one staff member, I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an unforgettable...
