I booked a table for a brunch with my girls to have our first bachelorette meet and greet. We came to the restaurant and was greeted with a manager (“sometimes manager sometimes owner”) who has straight away said my booking is not there and that we should go because he doesn’t have space. I have phoned in a month in advance to book a table for a bottomless brunch and phoned the restaurant a week before to confirm that it has been booked as I didn’t receive a confirmation, they have confirmed over the phone and all was well. I then received a text message with a confirmation the day before. When I presented the text message to the so called “manager” he said it is not their number and persisted that they are busy with an attitude to brush us off and make us go away. I have then looked for the number I have called the week before as he would not believe me that I really did book, he then said “ooooh that is our number I don’t know what happened I don’t have you in our bookings, I can’t do anything we are busy”. He then went to look at his iPad again and said he has someone there in a name similar to mine and asked if maybe that is the booking I then said it must be (I did spell my name out to the person on the phone, who btw was too busy to give me his name (I asked for it twice before he hung up on me)). I have been to this place before a couple times and it was lovely hence why I wanted to book it for this occasion. The so called manager then realised he must have made a mistake and went ahead to just tell us with an attitude that we need to wait because there is no free tables to which I was on a braking point as he didn’t even apologise for this misunderstanding which was on the restaurant side and when my friend went to tell him it’s not fair for us to wait when we have a booking and they are not prepared he went on to just cancel the booking and said he will not sit us because we was rude to him… he was rude to us the moment we have walked in and didn’t think this was at all their fault. When I then went to ask for his name and spoke to him calmly he said if he knew who took my booking over the phone he would sack them on the spot (for what miss spelling my name it was him who was extremely rude) he then went on to pinch my cheek saying “I know you had a bad day I will sit you guys down go and get your friends ” as he is being mercy full … we was gonna spend a lot of money there and we were returning customers which the company Just lost as this was the worst customer service experience of my life and an event I was planning for a long time and looked forward to so much. A man at the front desk, pointed to my table, didn’t walk me to my table, didn’t introduce himself didn’t welcome me to the restaurant. It went downhill from then. The food was salty & and lacked flavour. I sent my food back twice the first time I showed the waiter hairs on my chicken wing. He took the chicken Wing out of my hand and walked off with it. I then picked up a second chicken wing and it also had hairs on it. I called the waiter over again and explained I wasn’t willing to consume hairy chicken. Once my main course was finished approximately eight minutes the bill was brought to the table. We was going to have dessert but felt extremely rushed, So we took the hint and decided to pay. I was looking over my bill to try and work out my portion of bill. The manager came over and said should I take it and work it out as I’ll be quicker. I replied no I’d like to work out my portion. He attempted to rush me and told me I should just round my bill off, pay £15 service charge. I already made a deposit of £40 so I declined this offer, and responded by saying” I’m going to pay for my portion, thank you”. I found the manager to be extremely rude and unhelpful. I’m normally more than willing to pay service charge, even a little extra on top when the service is great and the food is great. On this occasion I decided to not pay service charge as I was extremely unhappy and the quality of food that was being served and the service that was being delivered. The manager proceeded to tell me that next time he will not allow me make a reservation If I wasn’t willing to pay the service charge. I explain service charge is a discretionary payment on the basis of you are happy the restaurant overall which consist of service atmosphere quality of food, ambience, etc. None of which I felt was delivered to decent standard. I informed the manager I wasn’t planning on returning. there was a belly, dancer, and a magician. My children love the magician, he was extremely patient with them. Read moreHi, We had a booking for 13 people on 27/10/2022 at 2pm at the Westfield branch. We were very unpleasantly welcomed by a waiter shouting at us “It is bookings only, can’t you see we are busy, if you don’t have a booking then get out!!!” I explained we have a booking for 13 people and 12 people have turned up in our party. He rudely then said we have too many buggies (we only had 2 babies in buggies) and he said we can’t enter with the buggies (we had included all the children in our party numbers as part of the booking).
He showed us a long big table and said only 9 people can sit there and the rest have to sit somewhere else. There was another party behind us who had booked for 9 people but 10 of them turned up and the same waiter allowed them to sit together and was accommodating which made us think that he was discriminating towards us due to kin colour or having children?When we got to the big table there were about 6 seats free and we asked as we are one party can we sit together, he rudely said “No your table is over there,” he pointed randomly and did not show us to the table, there were several tables free and he rudely walked of. We waited a good 10 minutes to be shown our second table but the waiter kept ignoring us. We tried to come to an understanding but the waiter was very argumentative towards us. It seemed like he was very angry and agitated by his work, showed lack of pride towards his role, and was taking it out on customers. After I checked my emails, it seems like this waiter cancelled our booking whilst we were at the restaurant at 2.04pm even though we waited 10 minutes patiently.
This is unacceptable customer service and was a very of putting experience. It left us with no choice but to leave the restaurant as he embarrassed us in front of the whole restaurant’s other customers by shouting at us though we were very calm and patient with him.
