I am an avid cafe hopper, and any time I am working from home I’m always looking for a cafe that can meet quite a few expectations , and I’m happy to say that Long White Cloud Bakery has repeatedly surpassed them! The coffee? Excellent. Every coffee I’ve tried (I’ve been about 7 times now) has hit the spot Baked goods? Wonderful. Very varied and creative, and they always have tasters out so you can try out a new bake every time Seating? They have 6 tables at the back, and while you don’t get much sunlight, it can seat around 15-20 people The service? Extremely friendly and welcoming. I wouldn’t say I’m a regular but I pop by every few weeks and I’ve been surprised that some staff have recognised me. Always happy to talk you through the menu and make polite conversation. This cafe probably has the best service I’ve ever experienced in London Pricing? Relatively decent. I usually come for a coffee and a sweet treat and to be honest it’s cheaper than some other cafes in the area with better quality. I would say that sandwiches/lunch food prices are standard for hackney, so I wouldn’t say expensive. But paying £3-4 for a coffee and £3-£4 for a delicious pastry is not bad for London. Wifi - pretty good. I’ve always been working in my laptop when I’ve visited. Once the wifi wasn’t working but every other time has been fine. I’ve always come on weekdays so it hasn’t been super busy and I’ve been lucky to have a lot of space to work. The music and ambience is brilliant too!! I’ve not felt the need to use my AirPods because I’ve been quite enjoying their playlists. I’ve found that any time I’m venturing out and just want a reliable cafe that can meet all the things I need, I just head to this cafe because I know I won’t be let down. Absolutely recommend a millions times over ❤️

Looking at previous reviews of this place I found myself almost guilty of my 2 stars rating, and can only explain it by perhaps a change in the ownership of the cafe. Indeed the owners don’t look or sound kiwis to me. Now granted hackney’s Gentrification has resulted in prices going up, but £8 for a full English breakfast that does not include tea or coffee is a bit heavy for my digestion!!!! What was the most annoying was the attitude I was given when I asked to swap the sausage for an extra rash of bacon... request that was firmly declined. Got pesto & rocket on my ENGLISH that didn’t not ask for. Granted it made it look pretty but very unnecessary. So to sum up: 1 egg, very little beans, a bit of mushrooms, 1rash of bacon and rocket salade without the sausage nor the drinks will set you back £8 in this cafe?!!! My sister’s avodo on toast was to say the least more than mediocre with those unripe avocados... a waste of time and money. Only good point is the selection of veggy options for vegetarians 😝

**edit: the owner reached out to me directly after my first review, which says a lot about how much they value their customers opinion (to me this is very important and says a lot about a business, so thank you!) My second time around was much better! I do think I came on an off day the first time. Food: I had the avocado toast with an egg this around, and it was beautifully served, fresh, and a great amount of food! Also had a lovely Nutella banana bread (which was to die for) and an oat flat white Service: food came out very fast, staff was so friendly and accommodating! Thank you. Atmosphere: nice, clean, bright space with good amount of seating! Wifi is available. *** Original: My sausage was cold and they initially forgot a part of my full English breakfast. Also my breakfast was served more like an open face sandwich rather than a full English The service was very slow :/ I’m sorry- seems like a small run business but I want to be honest with my feedback.
