Many people like to study at the British Library, but it's often crowded and seats are hard to find. Not far from there, there's a small café called Matcha Mochi Cafe. They offer a variety of trendy coffees from China, such as Yuzu Sparkling Ice Americano, Osmanthus Yin-Yang Latte, Black Sesame Latte, and of course, various drinks from the matcha series like Brown Sugar Matcha, White Chocolate Matcha Latte, Mango Matcha Latte, and so on...

The café has limited seating but a very clean and comfortable environment. They provide Wi-Fi and power outlets, along with various desserts and snacks like savoury bread. It's truly perfect for studying!

Last time I went there, I tried their Matcha Basque Cheesecake, and it was superb! This time, I tried the Black Sesame Earl Grey Tea Basque Cheesecake, the sesame flavour was fragrant, the texture was as silky and dense as always, and it paired wonderfully with the White Chocolate Matcha Latte.

They also have some small mousse cakes in collaboration with Beo Stories Patisserie. They are all very cute, with thin chocolate shells and airy mousses inside. They go well with the tangy Mango Matcha Latte.
In May, they have a promotion where you get a free matcha soft-serve ice cream with any order. Their matcha ice cream is very generous, filling the cone all the way to the bottom, and you can add different toppings. I chose brown sugar topping, which smells like the black sugar syrup used for bubble tea. The matcha ice cream has a great texture, smooth without any ice crystals, not too sweet with a slightly bitter matcha flavour. It's very refreshing, and after eating it, I feel energised and...
Read moreThe atmosphere here is really calm and cozy. Prices for food and drinks are quite normal, and the staff are very friendly. They play soft, relaxing music, and you can choose to sit outside for a chat, by the window to enjoy the street view, or on small sofas for group discussions. A nice spot for studying too—when you get tired, just look up and take in the street scenery.
One thing I found really fun is that they sell a lot of knitted toys. They’re a bit pricey, but super cute—honestly, if characters like LABUBU can go viral, these deserve the same!
☕ Matcha Mango Latte ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pretty standard for a brunch café, but with a twist—the milk is replaced with a latte base, making the flavor creamier and richer. The mango settles at the bottom, so give it a stir before drinking for the best taste.
🥥 Matcha Red Bean with Coconut Milk ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A creative combo! My friend loved it. It felt more like eating a bowl of porridge than just drinking—a thick, filling texture. The red bean paste is smooth (not whole beans), kind of like chewing pearls but much softer.
🍰 Cheesecake ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely delicious. It tastes like a richer, creamier version of the classic plain cheesecake—dense and smooth, almost like cheesecake ice cream when chilled. A must-try for cheese lovers!
🔥 Basque Cheesecake ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Surprisingly their bestseller. When I arrived in the afternoon, there was only one piece left. Not overly sweet, just right. Not my favorite compared to the plain cheesecake, but...
Read moreOverall, me and my buddies had a decent experience. I had DELICIOUS chocolate mochi, so chewy and the chocolate was amazing. Had to restrain myself from buying their lot. Yuzu tea was refreshing on such a hot day, a little pricey but I dont mind. Buddy 1 got an OK matcha latte; matcha was good but not sweet at all (we didnt ask for no sugar). Their cinnamon roll was so dry, probably left out for a while. Buddy 2 had the Hojicha latte, it was bleugh but I think we just dont like it. We also got the special matcha cake (forgot the name and no photo of pastries) which was nice until she found out there was a red bean filling which ruined the taste of the cake overall. If it had a different filling (like a matcha, or plain cream, or just no filling) itd be nicer. I like that you can turn your drink into a bubble tea for 60p. Unsure about their vegan milk options, the fruit teas...
