It's very rare that I've felt the need to write a negative review however the service we experienced at the taste of Greek was so appalling that it is only right that it is shared.
Initially, our experience at the Taste of Greek started well. We were kindly welcomed in and accommodated to our table, our orders were taken and most of our food was promptly provided. There had been a mix up with one of the orders where the wrong wrap was brought out, but the correct one was quickly brought out soon after. The wraps tasted great and you definitely got a fair portion. Unfortunately, it quickly started to go downhill from here.
3 of us had ordered a side of chips, by the time the replacement wrap had come out there was still no sign of our chips. I soon asked were our chips on the way which I was told they were. Unfortunately they didn't arrive till a good 10 minutes later by at which point my wrap had been eaten leaving me with just a bowl of chips to eat on its own. We requested if they had any mayo, to which the waitress aggressively remarked back that she did not speak English, before marching off. We decided just to eat the chips which tasted extremely dry and definitely required some form of sauce. It then got worse from this point.
One guy at our table had ordered chicken souvlaki, the final skewer he got to had been very undercooked after cutting it open, which showed the center containing raw chicken. We wanted to raise this when our plates were collected but after waiting 20 minutes, on a quiet evening, we were not attended to. I decided therefore to ask for the bill and also bring the uneaten chicken skewer to highlight it was undercooked. The waiter refused to take any responsibility and, along with the chef, tried to make out it was cooked. I accept that sometimes food can be brought out uncooked and mistakes happen, but it would concern me if this restaurant thinks that chicken, which is clearly pink in the center, can be classed as cooked. I was then rudely asked what did I want, I mentioned I just wanted to highlight the chicken was uncooked (and secretly hoped the restaurant took responsibility and apologised) but the only response I got back was a sarcastic thank you for highlighting it.
At this point we were just ready to go, the service was dismal and our evenings were ruined. We didn't think it was justified to pay the service charge at this point following our experience. We mentioned at the till we would like to pay the bill excluding the service charge however the staff were very aggressive and were adamant I had to pay it. I was made to feel very uncomfortable and decided just to call it quits and pay the bill so we could get out as soon as possible.
I'll be honest, I will never be taking a step inside this restaurant again. If you want your food to be delivered in 20 minutes phases whilst carrying the risk of giving you food poison, provided by very rude and aggressive staff, then this place is for you, otherwise I advise to never...
Read moreAbsolutely delighted with my recent experience at Mine Mane. From the moment i walked in, I felt very welcomed and comfortable. The service was outstanding, attentive and friendly. From the moment we walked in, a server called Arlind greeted us with a warm and genuine smile, making us feel instantly welcome. He had the balance of being friendly without being overbearing, which made the experience all more enjoyable.
What really stood out was his knowledge of the menu. He was able to explain the different dishes in detail, suggesting great pairing and offering a few personal favourites, which we gladly took his advice on. His enthusiasm for the food was contagious, and it was clear that he really cared about making sure we had the best possible experience. He even took the time to check in on us throughout the meal ensuring everything was to our liking ( which is definitely was) without interrupting the flow of our conversation. Even when the resturant got busy, Arlind remained calm and professional. Arlind was able to communicate in a very professional way towards his fellow colleagues which showed that all staff have a good relationship with each other. On the way out, the server greeted us very pleasantly out and he hoped to see us again. I must also say, this was the best customer service i have ever received!!
Now onto the food, i had the moussaka and my wife had the lamb skewers. I must say, that was the best moussaka i have ever had. The potato was very creamy and smooth and there was a equal ratio between the mince and the potato. The flavours of the moussaka was unbelievable and speaking about it right now is making my mouth water. My wife very generously allowed me to have a piece of her lamb skewer. Although i am not a massive fan of lamb, that skewer had me rethinking my choice. The lamb was very juicy and tender and had was grilled just right. It had a beautiful char on the outside which added a Smokey depth. Both dishes came very hot which shows that there is no time waiting in this restaurant. After all that delicious food it was right that we had dessert. We had a plate of baklava to which i could not believe how fresh and crispy it was. The sweetness of the baklava was just perfect and not too sweet. The filling was rich but not overpowering, with a generous amount of finely chopped walnuts and pistachios. It was the perfect sweet ending to a meal and i could easily see myself coming back JUST for desert. If you love baklave, this is...

Spinach and feta borek is plump and crispy, not too greasy. The filling looks like kale instead of spinach. I had far too many boreks anyways so I don’t mind a different one, but I know some people hate kale (´・ω・`)
I was wavering between Kofta and Moussaka and the latter was recommended to me. (I hear microwave “ding” lol as the comments said. It’s a family/one-person kitchen so I did somehow expect this, though Gordon Ramsay’s spirit is screaming somewhere in my head. Maybe it will be better to keep warm in the oven.) It still tastes nice and homely. Potato’s are perfectly soft,l and most, eggplants and zuchinis are grilled, and somehow the sauce and combination remind about Eastern European stuffed cabbage. I can still appreciate the preparation efforts that took place before reheating, but I can’t help thinking about airline pasta (´・ω・`). (— At least I saw chicken souvlaki on the grill, lucky people. I’ll save the last star till I try beef kofta souvlaki next time :3)
Salad is fresh. Be aware the olives aren’t pitted.
I was the only one when I entered Thursday before noon time. Hope those ordering seafood or dinner can get freshly prepared dishes.
Small bright cozy restaurant with sockets :3 Service is very friendly. Lunch starts 12 pm so not really 1130 as the website says. Food...
